"We had a delightful stay at the Discovery Inn! The staff were friendly and always available for anything that we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay special. They shared a wealth of knowledge regarding things to do in town and around the island. The rooms have undergone a recent refresh and have microwaves, mini fridges, Keurig coffee makers with a generous supply of coffees and cocoa, and most importantly, comfy beds. We come to the San Juans at least once a year and this will be our “go-to” lodging from now on!"

"Really nice place. I like the ambience of this inn. It is away from the town, yet close enough to walk if you choose. Has a sort of rustic yet modern look and feel. The staff were very friendly and ready to welcome you. Very informative for first time visitors. Will definitely come back to this one if I’m ever on the island again."

"Update: Miriam mailed my items back to me, and though it took a long time, I appreciate getting them back. I forgot a pair of AirPods in my room, and received a call about that the day I checkout out. That part of my experience was very appreciated. Unfortunately, by the time I returned from the kayak trip I had planned I had no time to stop by the hotel before my ferry reservation. No problem, the front desk had offered to mail them back to me at my expense, which I also really appreciated. However, that was 7 weeks ago. Since then there have been multiple phone calls and emails exchanged, and I keep hearing things like "mailing items that need to be weighed and paid for is not so easy here on our little island." A quick Google search tells me those AirPods weigh 1.79 oz, meaning all it would take is 2 forever stamps and a drop-off at a mailbox. I'd happily pay the $1.32 postage and the cost of an envelope, and they already took my CC number over the phone to charge me for postage. I'm confused by why this has been going on for so long, and I will update this review as needed."

"Overall mediocre experience. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but not somewhere we would stay again. The location is outside of town, so you have to drive to get anywhere. It’s still a very short drive, but I feel it is overpriced for it being outside of town. Our room seemed very clean and had all the basic accommodations. The bed however was extremely hard and by the 3rd night I didn’t get much sleep because I kept waking up, tossing and turning due to the back pain. I also had to get earplugs after the first night because the walls are so extremely thin, loud people next to us and above us kept me up. There is a hot tub but we didn’t get to use it due to it being very crowded by the time we got back to the inn each night, with kids using it like a swimming pool jumping in and out rather than as a relaxing hot tub. Overall we didn’t spend much time in the room, so it wasn’t terrible, just not worth paying for again. Office staff was friendly and the grounds seem to be well maintained. 3/5 total. Better insulation and more comfortable beds would make this place much more appealing for it being outside of town."
