Reviews of McKinley Park
"Only steps from Tacoma Dome. Treed park with small marsh, walking trails and forest phone. Located right beside I5, hence quite noisy. Several amenities including children's playground, skatepark, adult workout equipment, restrooms and picnic tables."
"A great hidden gem of the Tacoma area. A large walking park lined with old trees and unique features. Danny who takes care of it in his own free time has done an amazing job of transforming it over the years and constantly improving and cleaning it. A great place to get away from the city while still being in it (downside is some freeway noise at the bottom of the park right along I5.)"
"Spent time walking the trails in the northeast part of the park β beautiful area, feels like I stepped out of the city and into the wilderness. One trail along the interstate can be noisy BUT trees have already been planted and are growing to provide a natural sound and wind break for the future."
"McKinley Park is a nice nature oasis in the middle of urban Tacoma. Well maintained trails and a very nice playground. A few wonderful picnic areas and the restroom by the playground was clean. Dogs must be leashed at all times now. Overall a very lovely park!"
"I was on the trails yesterday. It is a magical place and cared for by a very special human being. It is a peaceful area in an unusual place - next to I-5! You don't even notice the freeway. Great place to walk the dog, take the kids and be by yourself in the natural beauty of this special place."
