"Bathroom was very dirty! We stopped while we were doing a job in Poulsbo to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch & a Monster energy drink..."
"Gas seems to be the cheapest in town. If you have a members card it's even cheaper."
"I live in Shoreline, but I find myself in Poulsbo on a regular basis. Most of the time I go there to work on my boat. Sometimes I go there to get ice cream. Occasionally I go there to meet a date. No matter why I go, I make it a point to get some gas. At home, people are used to paying higher prices for everything and gas stations take advantage of it. They blame taxes, but that is only part of the story. In Kitsap county, people are more careful with their money and they are adamant about not paying taxes. It costs quite a bit for me to get to Poulsbo, so I don’t go there for the cheap gas, but if I am going to be there anyway, I make sure to grab a tank while I’m there. On this occasion, I had a date on Bainbridge Island, so it made sense for me to stop at the Safeway Fuel Station on my way out 305. The Safeway sneaks up on you when you are driving south. There is a big sign advertising the fuel price, but the road under the sign is exit only. You need to go to the next light and take a left. The fuel station is on a hill on your left. Drive past it until you can take a left. Another left gets you into the parking lot that you will have to cross to get to the Fuel Station. It is a popular spot and you may have to wait in line for your turn to gas up. The price on the sign includes the discount you get if you use your Safeway card. If you don’t have a card, or have not done enough grocery shopping recently, you will pay 10 cents a gallon more. It feels like a small bait and switch, but there is nothing to do about it. The Fuel Station is near a big Safeway store. You can combine your shopping and your refueling into a single trip for convenience. If you only need a few items, there is a little store right by the pumps where you can get drinks and snacks. It seems like a good idea until you realize that people are going to leave their cars at the pump while they grab something. That jams up the line on a busy day. Fortunately, most people realize the problem and skip snack shopping on busy days. The pumps are self service, but we all know how to pump our own gas these days. I also take the opportunity to wash my windows. Occasionally, I check my tires and the oil level. I remember a time when some kid would come out to your car and take care of such services. The kids working in the grocery store are going through a similar transition as self checkout takes over their work. There were only a few moments to contemplate the state of the world while I filled my tank. 12 gallons did the job. I returned the hose to its receptacle, twisted on the gas cap and closed the cover. The job was done and I had a date to get to."
"Love getting gas here. Very easy to maneuver around and get a good spot vs some other safeways."
"The Safeway here is great, but at this gas station there is an air compressor for refilling tires that I had a problem with. I've used other air compressors just like it at other locations without issue. I managed to check and refill two of my tires okay, but then at the third and forth tire, the pressure dropped and the display said 'ERROR' and shut off for a moment after causing the tire pressure to drop to 20psi. Sometimes it worked up to 25psi in the tire, before ERROR and loss of pressure back to 20psi. Kitsap Tire & Automotive checked the tires, they were fine. User error, or broken compressor, I'm not totally sure, but it wasn't good."
