Nightshade®️ Tattoos & Plants
About the Business
Nightshade®️ Tattoos & Plants is a unique institution located in Seattle, Washington, owned and operated by husband and wife, Joe and Aleisha. It is Seattle’s first hybrid tattoo and plant shop, offering a creative and eco-friendly experience for customers.
Established over 11 years ago, Nightshade®️ Tattoo specializes in black and grey tattoos by colorblind artist Joseph McSween. In 2019, the business expanded to include house plants, providing clients with a variety of unique and rare botanicals at local markets and online.
During the pandemic, Nightshade®️ Tattoos & Plants decided to open a brick and mortar location on Queen Anne Avenue North to revitalize the neighborhood and house their hybrid shop. The institution aims to increase creativity and mental well-being through the combination of nature and art.
Nightshade®️ Tattoos & Plants is committed to sustainability, using recycled and biodegradable materials for packaging to minimize their carbon footprint. Customers can also purchase gift cards for plants, which make thoughtful and long-lasting gifts for any occasion.
In-store pickup is available Wednesday through Sunday from 12PM to 5PM. Visit Nightshade®️ Tattoos & Plants to explore a unique blend of art, nature, and creativity in Seattle.

"This shop was a phenomenal place to get tattooed. I have tons of other pieces from other shops, and none have come close to the quality and care I got from Joe. During the tattoo session I had, I was already thinking about what I should get from him or his wife next. I highly recommend this place for tattoos, and their plants looked fantastic as well. The tattoo is healing perfectly too!"
"Awesome shop for plants and art! Had the pleasure of getting this lil frog from Aleisha and I adore it. I already have another booking with her coming up, as she's fantastic to work with and is incredibly talented. Can't wait for more."
"This is a lovely store in Lower Queen Anne with a wide variety of plants. 1. The plants that I got were very healthy. Even the small 2" plants [many stores tend to not have them well developed-since they are cheaper] had very strong roots, as evident from when I repotted them. 2. The owner, Aleisha, is very kind and helpful in giving any advice related to my plants' health [even for the plants that I didn't get from her]. This goes to show how passionate she is in general about helping people with their plants. 3. They have a very diverse variety of plants ranging from ones that are local to Washington as well as ones that are hard to find in the Pacific North West. 4. I also feel the plants are much more affordable [compared to similar stores in Seattle as well as Lower Queen Anne]. Thanks Aleisha and keep up the great work!"
"Such a beautiful plant shop! Worth the stop, and I highly recommend booking ahead for a tattoo. Aleisha did my most recent tat, and I absolutely love it. Customer service was 10/10, the shop was welcoming, and the neighborhood is brighter with them here!"
"I bought some plants online and they shipped them from Washington to Maryland in 2 days. I was so excited to get a notification saying my packages were delivered. One plant (note it was the more fragile of the plants that were shipped) was broken on arrival, but they were so kind as to give me propagation tips and I look forward to giving it a go, I love propagating plants. Even with that lil travel oopsie, I would buy more plants from them in a heartbeat (as long as my wallet says I can). They better know the next time I'm in Washington I will be getting a plant and a tattoo."
