"Customer service has declined while their prices have increased. Employee was rude during the transaction. Tossed my items and receipt on the counter, then immediately walked away. There was no one else in the store. He also forcefully/unwillingly acknowledged my thank you when I picked up my items and left. There was a total of 3 sentences exchanged during my visit, I doubt I said anything to upset him. If you hate your job why show up to it?"

"The employees here were very condescending, and repeatedly talked down to me. They seemed to try to over complicate a simple request to have a key copied and treated me like I didn’t understand the purpose or existence of a blank key, even though I had brought in a blank key with the hopes of having it cut."

It is like one on one customer service for the elderly. Excellent location to serve the community, and get what is needed, and avoid a long drive to big stores that are far away. "I've patronized this store for three years. The long time staff are insanely knowledgeable. The newbies are naturally less so but still super helpful. The range of products is superb for a small footprint store. They won't have plywood sheets or big lumber. They will have everything else you might need. The garden section is great for tools, fertilizer and seeds. I love the place."

"Lived on Mercer Island as a renter for the better part of a decade and this was always my go-to hardware store. The most important feature of the store is the staff, they have always been helpful to me, and I pretty much always need help finding something. Without asking its easy to end up wandering the aisles looking for what you want and that takes time. It's small for a hardware store but seems to cover most all needs even if there isn't the exact brand you were looking for. I tend to do a lot of DIY crafting so I asked for a fair number of odd objects over the years and always came away with something that worked. Unique quirk of the store is the ultra-mellow store dog who greets everyone to come through. I don't think I've ever been licked as some other reviewer said, but I like dogs and this one is the most mellow dog you will ever, ever see. Its a positive as far as I'm concerned."
