"Amazing lamb dumplings cannot be found elsewhere and beef dumplings stuffed with tender beef so delicious! All their Xiao Long Bao are all to die for! Finally the custard buns I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly addictive with a yolk like center with the taste of freshly baked bread that takes you straight to a doughy paradise that you'll never want to leave! The presentation alone with a golden streak proves their divine!"
"BEST XLB IN PORTLAND My daughter convinced me to spoil her on a Saturday for lunch and we were lucky to find close by street parking. We were seated immediately and had an attentive young server who really gave fantastic service. The portions are overall large here and we ordered enough food for at least three people for $100. Hot & Sour Sliced Cucumber $8.95- 5/5 stars!!! Snazzy pickled cucumbers and a generous portion that is enough for 4 people. Shrimp & Pork Xiao Long Bao $15.95- 5/5 stars!!! 9 delicious soup dumplings that have the most flavorful broth of any XLB in Portland. Wonton in Chili Sauce $12.95- 4/5 stars. Flavor profile is good, but we only got 9 of the 12 advertised wontons. Dan Dan Noodle $12.95- 3/5 stars. Would pass on this one as it did not have a strong enough Sichuan flavor and they over cooked the egg. Dry-Fried String Bean $14.95- 5/5 stars!!! Tasty and tender. You will love these! Chongqing Style Shrimp without shell $18.95- 5/5 stars!!! I’ve only had the chicken version of this dish and loved the shrimp!"
"Awesome Chinese restaurant in the old Thirsty Lion building! Went here yesterday with coworkers and was surprised!!! It’s about time we had awesome Chinese food in the area. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and it was tasty. I’ll be coming back. The restaurant gives you chop sticks by default so you’ll have to ask for forks or spoons- be aware. It’s not a very Americanized restaurant which is its strength. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Everyone’s food was delicious and we all want to come back asap!"
"Everyone enjoyed the 3 dishes we ordered to share at the table, pork belly, eggplant, and a spicy fried chicken dish with Chinese peppercorns. The chicken was not too spicy for me because I didn't eat any of the dried hot peppers that were on the top. My favorite was the eggplant. And the pork belly was tender and delicious, very nicely prepared."
"Surprisingly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Portland. The XLB rivals Din Tai Fung in flavor and texture. The cauliflower and pork belly dry pot we ordered on a whim and was our favorite dish! The other pictures I’ve included in this review are snow pea tips and fish with wood ear mushrooms. All dishes excellent and tasty. We did not like their version of green onion pancake."
