"We were given a gift card for this place for Christmas. We booked our reservations over a month in advance. We'd heard about this place for a while and were excited to give it a try. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience but insanely expensive. My husband ordered a basic margarita on the rocks. Said it was good but more ice than anything. We tried the guacamole and it was very good but a bit heavy on the herbs on top. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh dill on top and may try it in my own now. The basket of chips that came with it had a whopping 7 chips in it. My husband ordered the carne asada plate and I got the birria tacos. Both were delicious, but again, way overpriced. You'd think for a $28 taco plate you'd at least get rice and beans but that had to be ordered on the side. The restaurant was rather loud but not intolerable. The service was fast and friendly. We had a nice time and the food was good but the prices were just insane. Was nice to try once but we doubt we'll be back simply because of the expense."
"It is one of the BEST dining and food experiences I've had in a VERY long time. I'd give infinite stars if I could. My wife and I went for her birthday. Our server was Ragnor, and they couldn't have been any more amazing. They totally elevated our night and was the reason we tried a 2oz Mezcal, which did NOT disappoint. It was an experience through and through. We did start at the bar with some marvelous cocktails. The bartender was kind and made a tasty beverage. Once seated in the booth, it was intimate and warm. The lighting is low, and the restaurant is full, but it feels like it's just the two of you, perfect. We ordered the Ceviche Verde at $23 for an appetizer and yes I know that's an insane price but let me tell you it was THE BEST ceviche I've EVER had, my wife said so too. We immediately booked another reservation after tasting it. That's how good this ceviche tasted. We both ordered a variation of tacos. I went to Pibil, and my wife had the L.A. Birria and again, they knocked it out of the park. Then the mezcal comes, and it is simply delightful, and I can't wait to go back for a flight. That leads us to my wife's next drink, a tajin candied watermelon situation that was next level. Get this drink! After that, we barely had room for dessert, but Ragnor brought us a Birthday Tres Leces we couldn't resist that we immediately destroyed. This dinner experience was fantastic from start to finish from the first steps in the door to the first sip of a tequila drink and beauitful bite of tacos, to the the last drop of Mezcal, and a piece of Tres Leces cake. 10 out 10 would recommend, and we will be coming again. There's a tomahawk and a flight of mezcal with my name on it. Warning it is not cheap, the most expensive meal I've paid for, I believe. What I will say is it was worth EVERY penny, and I'll be doing it again real soon."
"I can't believe a place this delicious actually exists in Caldwell. For a dining experience like this, you would expect to see this restaurant in a ritzy downtown of a large metropolitan city. The menu is carefully curated and each item on the menu is cooked to perfection. My only regret was that my stomach wasn't big enough to try one of everything on the menu."
"Amano, everything by hand. Fine dining with a Mexican homemade, comfort food twist. Everything came fast, the service was attentive and our waiter was engaging. Everyone seemed happy and there was a relaxed atmosphere, family friendly even. Lots of Hispanics eating here, which tells you something is right about the food was good. My wife had tacos and I had the chile relleno, which I always have to try. It was very tasty. But, not the perfect iteration of Chile relleno I seek. The relleno was not as puffed up as I like to see. But the flavor was spot on. I enjoyed the mixed drink selection immensely. The tequila menu was informative and made me want to become a tequila connoisseur. Highly recommend."
"This has been my second time at AMANO, I gotta say… the food and our servers have been fantastic, but the wait for food was much longer than I would have expected. However the redeeming qualities are there! The food is obviously made with pride, and the portions are perfect. It’s definitely a higher end establishment but without the overbearing poshness that comes with its competitors. Definitely will be back!"
