"Was charged $18.00 for 3 plain soda waters out of the gun during dry January. Should have been given a heads up."
"This is a perfect spot for an elegant dinner before a show at any Portland5 theatre. The service is excellent."
"Vaguely insulted by staff because I was ordering kid food for my 12 yr old and I️, and not a full meal. Yes, I can afford your $6.50 lemonade. The fries were so similar to McDonalds (where I don’t eat, thanks) that it was laughable. The only three stars I’m giving are for the lavender cheesecake, though I will never understand why cheesecake has whipped cream unless it’s flavored to complement a flavored cheesecake, maybe. Of course, that’s personal taste and a little unfair. The cheesecake itself was incredible. Being subtlety insulted reduces the quality of the food though, sorry. And fry sauce that isn’t just called “fry sauce”? Come on...who are you all kidding?"
"I am an Oregon Symphony season ticket holder so wish I could give a more positive Art Bar review. Attended a concert on 11/3/2017 and had dinner/drinks in Art Bar, and included a 20% tip for my server. I just happened to look at my bank account the following Monday to find that an additional $1.00 had been added to my Visa charge. When I contacted management and sent them a copy of my signed receipt, the manager tried to tell me that it was an additional charge from my own credit union. After contacting my credit union, they confirmed they do not add extra fees to their member's Visa charges and they started a dispute resolution. Management later referred to this as an “accounting error” on a voicemail, but also admitted the server added the extra $1.00. An extra $1.00 is not much, but a little added here and there could really add up, and how often do you check your bank statement after a quick bit to eat before the show? I would have liked management to take more responsibility for what happened. Art Bar is a convenient location for a quick meal or drink before a show, and the food is good, but I will either be paying cash or checking my Visa charges carefully if I do return."
