"I love this business! Competitively priced clean lobby and restrooms and excellent oil changes!"
"I was very impressed with the people working there and how quick and easy it was to service my Dodge Ram Cummins!"
"This team is fantastic, efficient and above all understand customer care with kindness and a smile. Old School! So happy to have them in my neighborhood. Nicole and crew make this automotive maintenance chore pleasant and easy. Thank you Island Oil!"
"Sorry, not sorry to spoil the five-star party here, but my two experiences with Island Oil left a lot to be desired. Not the most friendly place I’ve ever taken my cars to. Over the course of two days I brought our two cars in for the “full service”. The first car got all of the fluids checked, oil changed, etc., but I see other reviewers stating that they had their car vacuumed and the windows cleaned. Maybe they don’t do that anymore. My car certainly wasn’t “cleaner than when I brought it in”, as one reviewer states. Oh well. The next day, today, I brought our Smart car in for the “full service”. This was a farce. Despite asking the technician(s) if they knew how to open the front hood, which is a little different on this car, and showing them how to open it, when the car rolled out of the bay I double-checked to see if it was closed properly and latched. The hood was just RESTING on the car, and the latches were not locked. If I hadn’t checked it would have either fallen off while driving or have been blown back on the windshield. The rear engine cover mat was left SITTING ON THE SOFT-TOP! They didn’t even place it back into the car! Glad I saw that before driving off! Again, no windshield clean or vacuum (maybe no longer done). Upon looking closer at the receipt, they stated the air filter was “aftermarket”, and that they did not service it. I’ve never had this issue anywhere else, and the filter is readily available on Amazon or other auto parts stores. I’ve had this car fifteen years and this is the first time anyone ever mentioned this. Halfway home, after about ten miles of highway driving, the tire-pressure light came on. Checked the receipt; “tire pressure checked”. I pulled over and called Nicole. She apologized for the mistakes with the hood and engine mat, and told me the air filter wasn’t serviced because it was an “oil-bath” filter and “they didn’t do that”. News to me! Luckily I have a spare paper filter at home, guess I’ll do that for them. Once I arrived home, after fifteen miles of highway driving, the tire-pressure light was still on, but after tires get hot from driving, the pressure goes UP, not DOWN. Upon checking the tire pressure HOT, three of the tires were 4-5 pounds DOWN from the listed pressure on the door sill, and in the manual. One tire was 3 pounds down. Not only did they NOT even add air to the tires, it was obvious they did not even CHECK the tire pressure! So I did that job for them, too. After calling Nicole again, she told me that she would give us a full refund. I told her that it wasn’t necessary, but a PARTIAL refund would be acceptable, and I told her that I would not be coming back. A few hours later, no full or partial refund has been given. So, I guess my advice would be: before driving away, make sure everything is where it should be. Look over your receipt and check over their work. At this point I can’t even trust that the OIL AND FILTER were changed! Maybe ask to see your old oil and filter before leaving! I’ve been going to quick-lubes since I started driving in 1976, and I have to say, this was the worst experience I have ever had. Sure, they’re close and convenient, but I’ll be driving the extra miles to Oak Harbor again for my oil changes. UPDATE: This morning I received a full refund for the service on the Smart car. I am still frustrated at the lack of attention to proper service and the safety hazards that I found before driving away."
"I am so happy to have a local, independently owned service station that is convenient. The prices are totally competitive, the oil change was quick and efficient, and the customer service was extremely friendly and inviting. Oh and they have a nice (small) waiting room with snacks, magazines and TV! It seems they’re well aware of the difference these little things can make."
