"We had gone here for several years with no issues. That quickly changed. Took my child in for her routine 6 month cleaning. They are finishing up, then all of the sudden the dentist pulls 2 wiggly baby teeth….. without my knowledge. My child became extremely upset by this. As I’m trying to comfort my child, I asked the dentist why she did that?! Dr. Ashley stated that the hygienist told her that I hinted to it, which I NEVER did. She then leaves the room and disappears!!!?? The hygienist said she was very sorry, and it was a huge misunderstanding on her end. We leave right away because my child is still EXTREMELY upset by this, and I need to get her out of there. Dr. Ashley then calls me, and has an attitude from the start. She says this is the first time this has ever happened to her. I told her that she should have confirmed with me before doing that. She then says well “most children don’t act that way after a tooth is pulled”……. EXCUSE ME?!?!? I don’t care how other kids react to that. We aren’t talking about others people’s kids, we are talking about mine. So now I’m pissed, and she says “well her gums had gingivitis”. Funny, because at the office, she said her teeth and gums looked great…. But now all of the sudden she has gingivitis? Ok. She is now not only being rude, she is also telling lies to cover her malpractice. Awful. Told her we wouldn’t be coming back, she didn’t care one bit. My child is now extremely anxious about the dentist. I feel it was truly a misunderstanding, however the way Dr. Ashley handled her malpractice was absolutely unprofessional. I hope they now have a plan in place to confirm with parents before doing this to another family/child. Only giving 1 star because I can’t leave zero."

"I feel like there needs to be a few more stars for this place. We have brought our kids to this dentist (all are amazing) since they were 2. When you walk in Brittany (front desk) creates the most inviting and comforting experience for everyone who enters. I can't say enough amazing things about her and her ability to make a otherwise stressful dentist visit so calm. My kids actually look forward to going the dentist, the staff is so caring, calm and helps to ensure they create the best experience they can for each child. The atmosphere at the office is so perfect for kids to feel good about the dentist and help remove the negative feeling of going to the dentist. I can't recommend this place enough. There is a little out of pocket due to the extra care and love they provide but in my opinion it's 100% worth every penny for the experience. This place should get 10 stars but being the absolute best pediatric dentist option in our area!"

"My daughter has been seeing Dr. Carolyn, Dr. Downey and Dr. Ashley for close to 10 years. During that time, she has had 2 dental emergencies (traumas), and both times the doctors and team members have shown up after hours, and even on holidays, to take speedy, compassionate, amazing care of her. The staff are always so pleasant, helpful and understanding. My daughter has an incredible idea and relationship with dentistry due to these relationships, even after her traumas, and, as such, has developed healthy dental habits and oral hygiene. We, whole heartedly, appreciate the Behind the Smile team."

"We were referred here by our family dentist for a second opinion on my daughter’s hypocalcified teeth, one of which had started chipping. We saw Dr. Carolyn. Because of COVID-19, I was not allowed to go into the building with my daughter. The exam was very quick since they just needed to take x-rays and do visual inspection; our regular family dentist had already done a cleaning and fluoride treatment. My daughter came out super happy and excited about the toy prize she was given. I then spoke to Dr. Carolyn at length about what was going on with her teeth and feel like she more than addressed my concerns. She explained the situation clearly and made me feel very comfortable with the plan for her hypocalcified teeth. Based on that alone, the whole experience is rated 5 stars, but it actually gets better. Dr. Carolyn then brought up my daughter’s oversized tonsils and we talked about her snoring/teeth grinding issues. She gave me referrals for an orthodontist and throat specialist and helped dispel some uncertainty I had regarding when to pursue orthodontic treatment. When I asked about continued care, specifically if my daughter needed to have all her future prophylactic exams there, Dr. Carolyn said, no, we can and should continue seeing our family dentist for regular cleanings and that she trusted that our dentist would refer us back if her expertise was needed. I was so impressed at the time and attention that Dr. Carolyn gave to me and my daughter without expecting us to continue at the clinic as her patient. That to me demonstrates a strong integrity to the profession and deserves to be applauded."

"We’ve been visiting this dentist for 5 years or so and we absolutely LOVE them! They are great with the kids and after every visit the kids get to pick out a small toy. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist! I love how they take time to explain everything to me and answer questions in detail. We’ve always had a great experience here, every time."
