"Enjoyed the fish and chips with curry sauce and calm chowder. Will be back after dry January for whiskey drinks. Beautiful wooden barback."
"First time in and I love it! Very cozy, my British friend says very good British style fish and chips (her family is actually highlands clan so her taste covers Scotland as well). Service was very friendly and attentive AND when we arrived with our friend with mobility issues they cleared (as in asked a regular patron to move, and he did) a table downstairs for us! The Scotch selection is mind-blowing and they even have an eye dropper for those who carefully measure their water. As a non-Brit, all I can say is the fish and chips are the best North of the Ship Canal by a long measure (and maybe south but I don't stray there as much). I fully intend to become a regular here."
"Macleod's is a bar with pub food right on Ballard Ave on the corner. Parking around here can be tough since it's such a busy area so be prepared to walk. They have dozens of tables inside, but on the main floor and upstairs as well as about a dozen tables outside. They have a small menu, but have a few more items during happy hour between 4pm-6pm. They're known for their whiskey and scotch collection, so get a flight if possible. Their food is OK, nothing mind blowing but I'd say a little on the pricey end foe the portion size you get. The staff is good too, friendly and quick with service."
"The best Fish & Chips I have had since I have lived in the USA!! (I have been here 8 years and lived in 3 states) We came on a Friday night & they had a Bagpiper playing live which was great fun & created a really enjoyable environment."
"5/5 for location, decor and the vibe. 5/5 for good presentation. 3/5 on the food itself. Bread to fish proportion was way off - had 3 bites of breading before I got to my fish. They were out of halibut so we got cod - pretty bland. I’ve been on a serious fish n chips kick lately so we’ve been trying all the recommended spots. Not my fave by any means. The chips were pretty mushy, not very crispy at all. Sadly I won’t be back and I don’t recommend given the $$$$. Go for a happy hour but you’re not missing anything when it comes to full size."
