About the Business
Bamboo Sushi, located at 1409 Northeast Alberta Street in Portland, Oregon, is a unique institution that offers a combination of a bar, food, and restaurant experience. "Good evening, I can't recommend this establishment to anyone, it's not the most delicious sushi in my life, just terrible!!!!! I don't know who made them, but the photo shows that they are prepared terribly, and I can't say anything positive about the taste either, I will never come back here again!"
"We had nigiri, some rolls, and the aguachile. The Hamachi nigiri was very good, though it was the smallest nigiri I have ever had. We shared 3 rolls. The Hoki Poki was the best of them, it was fantastic. The Sunset roll was good, as was the Friday the 13th though the sauce was a little on the sweet side. The Aguachile is a fantastic dish, something you would expect to find in a world class restaurant. It is a beautiful dish and was delicious. Don't pass on that one."
"Absolutely fresh and delightful. Happy hour is on point. If you're coming later, make a reservation or anticipate a little wait. Very popular venue with delicious offerings."
"My first time in, and unfortunately wasn't very impressed. I ordered two of the happy hour 4 piece chefs choice nigiri. Expecting 8 different pieces of fish. Instead I got four kinds of fish twice. Which was disappointing, and feels lazy. I also got an 18 dollar roll that was just not worth that price. It was a very basic salmon roll with some sauce on top. It wasn't even dressed up pretty. The wait for the food seemed excessive since it wasn't busy, and I didn't order much. I started to wonder if they forgot about me. Everything also had a slightly off sour taste to it. Also I can't stand when places give luke warm tap water. For 50+ bucks before tip, I would really expect more."
"This was an excellent experience, from the dining atmosphere to the food itself. We got great recommendations from our waiter, who besides having great knowledge about their assortment also provided great service. I was amazed by the variety of sushi the restaurant offered, all fresh and flavorful with every bite feeling special. Each plate came with its own sauce made to match the already abundant flavors and add to them. I would like to touch a little on the dessert, as they have managed to elevate a simple brownie with ice cream and berries to something that’s hard to find anywhere else."
