Reviews of Da Tiki Hut
"It’s always an amazing experience at Da Tiki Hut. At the bar or in a booth the service from staff is wonderful and the decor continues to become more and more island tiki with each visit. I can’t say enough about the food I’m on a mission to try it all and so far everything is fantastic! You can tell the cooks take pride in what they create for you. The drinks are also addicting. Oh, and let the staff know if it’s your first time, you just might get a treat from the kitchen!"
"Decor is great! Food and drinks, not good. The chicken in the combo plate was cold. And the kahlua pig in Jessie's special moco was all fat! The piece you see in the picture was all meat in the serving. The last pic is all fat. I've never had bad Hawaiian food. This place delivered for that experience. Fries, bleh. Dry with no offering or sauce availability. Overpriced drinks, too, for basically fruit juice. Also, dining in includes paper plates and plastic forks. Just expected more, and this was a huge disappointment."
"This spot was a very pleasant surprise. If you're in Tacoma, Washington, and craving good food and drink, give this place a try. When you enter the location, it appears as though it's take-out. If you have the time, definitely stay and dine in. You are escorted through a side door into the seating area, kind of a speakeasy. The decor is that of a tropical theme, as tikis, bamboo, and thatch make up the decor of the dining area and bar. Yes, there is a bar, and if you choose, meals are served at the bar. Drinks are of a tropical/tiki nature, which fit the theme, of course. The drinks are good and pair well with the food. If you're craving something else not on the drink menu, I'm sure they can accommodate. The food is really good! So good, I forgot to take photos. Definitely give this place a visit if you're in the mood for good food, good drinks, and awesome people! This spot has a lot of heart! Folks who enjoy the tiki culture check this spot out!"
"This was a whim decision to try a place off the beaten path, and it paid off in spades. You walk in to a small, humble, takeout restaurant. But dine in, and you’re transported to a whole new world of aloha. The decor is perfect and detailed. The drinks are inventive and delicious. But the food… the kalua pork is probably the best I’ve tried off of Maui. If you’re ever in Tacoma, it is a MUST. Do it, you won’t regret it."
"I've had this place on my list to try for a while & I've been craving loco moco so we decided to go today. First of all, the staff is very, very nice & the service is top notch! They brought out samples of the meats & then I suddenly had difficulty figuring out what I wanted. I intended to get loco moco, but the samples were so good! We both ended up getting the Combo Plate Lunch & it was generous helpings of meats + rice & mac salad. Plus we got an order of lumpia. I loved the mac so much that I ordered a pound of it to go with our leftovers. Our son (4) had the Korean Barbeque Chicken Kid Plate - he tried the sample & really liked it. He ate all the meat, which was a pleasant surprise for us because he has texture issues with meat sometimes, especially chicken. The hibiscus punch, mango lemonade, & regular lemonade were very tasty & refreshing! We also couldn't resist the pineapple upside down cake, which was super moist, & dole whip swirl, which was super refreshing. The orchid flower is edible! The decor is super cute & fun & they gave our son a temporary tattoo. Thank you for the fun experience!"
