"Cook's Tavern in Tacoma, Washington is a neighborhood tavern serving a changing menu that highlights various regions in the Americas. The menu changes quarterly. These photos are from the first time I visited Cook’s Tavern. They were featuring Cuba. I ordered the Cuban Beef Picadillo, a Garden Salad, and Bag O’ Beignets. Everything was excellent! I have visited Cook’s Tavern quite a few times over the years. Every time I am in Tacoma, I make a point to check out their menu. I usually order at least three menu items each visit. Some I have liked more than others, but I’ve always had an enjoyable meal and excellent service. It takes a lot of ingenuity and creativity to pull off a new regional menu four times a year. I wish there were more restaurants like it. One of the things I really love about Cook’s Tavern is that every time they change their menu, they change the interior of the restaurant. They put out a call to local artists, who provide art that fits the theme. All of the art is for sale. the regional portion of the menu Currently, Cook’s Tavern is featuring Mississippi Delta. Highly Recommended!!!"

"MIND-BLOWING Brunch Experience!!! I am a HUGE Eggs Benedict fanatic but unfortunately most establishments boasting this CLASSIC menu option has only half-delivered or completely failed my expectations. I don't ask for much. I just want a traditional, long-standing tradition done right. But, never fear: this place easily offers what I'd considered in my own humble opinion as among the TOP 5 Benedicts I have enjoyed during a weekend brunch. They also have a spiked espresso called "Coffee Nudge" that like it's name implies, nudges you from early morning weariness into both an alert, but gradual relaxed State. They even place an actual COFFEE BEAN on top of the foam (sorry I am a "visual sucker")!! The brunch STANDARD, mimosas, were also given the ⭐ treatment! I hate to say it, but something as simple as mixing bubbly and citrus juices has escaped the talents of many breakfasts bartenders. This place delivers it's stubborn rebuttal to this lost art in SPADES. This entire meal was such a DECADENT, yet simply wholesomely comforting treat. The atmosphere is the classically laid-back West Coast chic, with a family friendly vibe. All kinds enjoy the first meal of the day here—from college students and artsy hipsters to energetic professionals, young families and octogenarian couples. The soulful sounds of Mississippi Delta and Tennessee blues classics gently fill the air. The energetic chatter and pleasant banter of the other patrons is electric and not deafeningly obtrusive as in many restaurants on a weekend morning. I am from the East Coast and traveling through the area for medical industry work, missing the Mid-Atlantic region terribly with a string of bad news recently and this place is a comforting salve to my soul. My waiter EVAN was TOPS!!"

"Food was good. Apparently the eggs benedict are good (I did not have, but everyone else in my party did). One exchanged the english muffin for a fresh biscuit. The chicken fried steak was good.. could be better with a lot more peppered sausage gravy. Park on the street. They do have coffee, coke products etc. A booth will hold 4 large adults comfortably. You will most likely have to wait to be seated."

"Grabbed some lunch with friends after a local Fantasy faire event. The waiters seemed a little bit judgmental and cautious around my friends and I. The atmosphere was mostly nice, except for a few stares from other customers. Besides this small amount of tension, the food was excellent. I got a very flavorful, South American hash dish that was very fresh, flavorful, rich, and filling. Every bite was very tasty and I’m hoping to come back and try more dishes."

"Excellent food and experience as always. Love their seasonal menu from different places in the world. Photos are from the three Dominican Republic brunch items. All were very tasty. Great staff and great food!"
