"I have been shopping at Goodwill Industries since I was a kid with my mother and siblings. I enjoy coming to the Everett Goodwill Industries location to search for items needed and fun treasures. You never know what you're going to find. Unfortunately, as we all have experienced and expressed prices have gone up. But, then take a look at the difficulty in donations, theft, and the rising costs to do business. It's not hard to figure out. May our community support Goodwill Industries, including Goodwill's job training program."
"The store itself isn’t bad. But I would suggest training your employees in empathy, especially given your stated mission of helping others. Unfortunately, I was so shocked at what I just witnessed that the young man left before I had a chance to say anything. But a young man - obviously down on his luck - was in front of me buying some snack items. As I walked up to the cashier after him and he walked away, the older white lady wearing a dark blue and black plaid shirt (I didn’t see her name), who was two registers down from me, LOUDLY and condescendingly asked him “did you purchase those?” He was also obviously shocked, as he had LITERALLY JUST WALKED AWAY FROM THE REGISTER that I now occupied. The associate ringing me up (who was a very nice lady) was obviously shocked at this, as well. But the first lady doubled down and asked him again if he “purchased those”. He held up his receipt in shock and confusion and she raised her eyebrows and hands up as if to say “well, how was I supposed to know”. Considering he had LITERALLY just walked away from my associate’s register and she didn’t raise an alarm, I found this to be in very poor taste of the old white lady associate, as well as extremely dehumanizing. I understand that there are probably cases of the homeless and others trying to shoplift. But it was so blatantly obvious that he had just come from paying that it left me completely flabbergasted at the audacity. When the older generation bemoans a “lack of respect” from the younger generation, it is scenarios like this that we think back on and use in our judgements. Again, the store itself isn’t bad, but this whole situation has left a very poor taste in my mouth for this location."
"I bought 2 pairs of paternity pants and a pie dish, I was asked to round up to the nearest dollar so I did and it should of been $29.00. The older white, blonde women ended up overcharging me and I saw that they ran my card for $79.00! At Goodwill. What a freaking scam and joke."
"Very high prices for old damaged items at goodwill store. like Nordstrom store prices. My advice is not to buy this old dirt at such high prices. You can find the most beautiful new, unused items at the cheapest prices than the Goodwill store."
"Goodwills prices are just way to high now. You guys basically charge full price for used items. Its not very affordable anymore. A 3 year olds used pair of leggings should be 99cents not $6.99. I use to love the goodwill but I will buy brand new instead of used ."
