"Wonderful service, colorful and lively decor and "siesta"-feel atmosphere! Unlike typical Mexican/Latin restaurants they bring out a hot refried beans and cheese dip along with the typical complimentary salsa and warm house-made tortilla chips! Try the Cadillac Margaritas with choice salt or sugar rim as requested and the Ultimate Nachos."
"Tucked away in the corner along the busy route to Poulsbo, this spot it can be easy miss. I am sure glad my family found them because everything was great. The parking lot does not do the inside justice. There is a separate front entrance for the bar, so once we stepped inside the dining area our eyes feasted on the bright oasis of island colors. Our server asked if we wanted a table or booth, then seated us immediately at a clean booth. The place was fairly busy but we got water glasses and nice heaping bowl of chips, salsa and refried beans. The salsa was prefect, it was nicely seasoned and stayed on the warm and thick tortilla chips. It took us a few minutes to read and review the many selections on the menu. Once we ordered it took maybe 15 minutes for our food to arrive and our server asked if we wanted anything else to drink while refilling our waters. The food was piping hot, loaded with lots of fresh veggies, sauces, and cheeses. It was nicely spiced and not at all salty. I was hungry because I skipped lunch and barely finished my big plate. The rest of my family ate a little over half of their generous portions of food. The prices were about what you expect with everything going up these days, a little over $20 per plate but you definitely get your money's worth. I would definitely recommend and visit again. If I were a local, this would be my regular place fresh, delicious Mexican food."
"Now this is good food,! I love robust flavors. The chips and three dipping were places on the table right after we sat down. Followed by fresh iced cold water glasses. I had the Santa fe chill reno and it was great, with rich flavors. Creamy sweet sauce. The wife had the Carne Asada steak with a enchilada. For desert we had the flan. A sweat custard with a drizzle pour over the top. Yes, I will come back!"
"Took 30 mins for the waitress to take our order even though there was no one else in the restaurant. When our food came the rice had a hard top layer like it was sitting out and my son's grilled cheese had a random burnt stem on the plate and the sandwich wasn't even cooked. They expected us to pay for a cheese sandwich! I don't think the staff knew I understand Spanish either cuz the cooks were making fun of us for ordering a grilled cheese at a Mexican place and the waitress defended us by saying it's for a child. Overall rude, lazy, and terrible service! Will not be returning!"
"Went here with my wife tonight, this used to be Aztexa restaurant. The staff seated us immediately, offered us either a table or booth. We were brought chips and salsa, we requested beans as well and that was no problem. The beans were very bland, no real flavor, but a little salt helped. We ordered steak and shrimp fajitas for 2, as well as a bowl of tortilla soup. The soup came and it looked very interesting. It had avocado pieces in it which was a new one on me, but it tasted very good. It was loaded with cheese and tortilla, it was flavorful and delicious. The steak fajitas on the other hand were very plain. No real flavor to speak of. It looked great, good colors, good smell, but the taste just wasn't there. All in all I wasn't impressed with the food, there's a Mexican food place down at the water front called Casa Luna that has much better food and we will probably continue going there whenever we want Mexican food. Our bill was 50 dollars and some change, I tipped 10 dollars to the waiter because his service was great. He was very attentive, offered refills and took good care of us."
