"Ok… so far so good. Ej25 has nearly 400 miles on it and it seems just fine. Compression was 180 +\- 2.. one thing to watch out for on the older ej25’s… make sure to check exhaust valve guides on 2&4… the valve guides can drop and over time, it can cause misfires and possible engine killing damage. The engine i got from them had dropped guides, and i found out after putting engine in, so i had to remove head and sent to machine shop. No rod knock as of yet. Idles smooth. High rpms are just fine. Hasn’t burned any oil yet. Doesn’t smoke. I don’t really know how many miles were on this engine, but when i pulled oil pan and valve covers all was clean with no build up or gunk. I did notice the back of the intake valves were extremely dirty with excessive carbon build up. Don’t know why if engine was so low miles.. i just cleaned them as best i could before putting intake back on…. Was it perfect… absolutely not. It was shipped fast, very clean on the outside, and has superb compression. I ran it for a few miles then changed the oil and filter. Oil wasn’t black from excessive internal build up, so that’s a good sign. Would i buy another one from them… probably not, the dropped valve guide thing really really pissed me off. I didn’t want to send it back and get one that was worse… am i happy now that it’s back together, running and purring like a kitten yes. But it cost me an extra $1000 to make it a solid ej25… that’s my experience with the motor i bought from them.."
