"Underwhelmed, especially given the high price points. I had to ask for salt for my pasta and my partner felt the dishes were overdone. The sofa was ripped and my menu had been spilled on and had water stains. Having spent $200 between the two of us, we have no need to go back."
"My fiancé and I had heard great things about this place so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We were sat on the bar side. I would recommend asking to be sat on the restaurant side. Our server, Sam, was awesome! The food, although interesting and on the expensive side, was quite good. The downside of the whole experience was being sat in the bar side though. There was a football game on and a couple of the patrons were very into the game to the point where they were yelling at the tv, clapping loudly and being incredibly disruptive to the other guests. Overall, it was pretty tacky to have such a nice bar charging an average of $15 a cocktail to have a football game on. If that's the scene we had wanted, we'd of chosen a sports bar. It really took away from a good experience. If this wouldn't have happened it would have been a 5 star rating. Our server assured us this was out of the norm, but it was a playoff game. Again, go to a sports bar if you want to be rude and disruptive to other guests spending a few hundred dollars on dinner. I would go back, however, ask to be sat on the restaurant side."
"A new to us place in downtown Vancouver. We were sad when the previous establishment closed its doors. When one door opens, another always opens! @thesedgewick is a refined upscale opportunity for a date or small family gathering when wholesome creative food is what you are craving. We took the time to scout their presence on line before making the trip down. One requirement is vegan options or ability to adapt an existing dish to a vegan offering. They easily adapted and pointed out specific options we might find interesting. We got the spaghetti squash bowl, Harissa Roasted Cauliflower, and the mixed pepper yakitori. Each dish was artfully arranged when it arrived at the table. Since this is a family style eating opportunity the dishes do not necessarily come out at the same time. In our case, the cauliflower and spaghetti squash came first, with the peppers following pretty closely. Starting with the peppers - there was more on the screwed than I would have thought possible. Everything was grilled to perfection. My husband inhaled them… The cauliflower was WICKED GOOD! The cauliflower was perfectly roasted with substantial amount of avocado with the dish along with the berry sauce. I would eat this every day if I could! My husband enjoyed the squash and it would have been better shared. It had a component that was not vegan so he ate to his fill. The atmosphere is relaxing and not too loud. The staff is professional and offer expert advice for speciality needs. Try it - I am betting you will love it too!"
"Came here for dinner, we were hoping for a full table, but they closed down the restaurant side, and we sat on the barside. We ordered a lot of small plates to share, so it was hard to shift things around. Besides that the food was good, the drinks were meh. Would come back for the food again."
"This is hands down my favorite restaurant in town and it just so happens that the owners of this restaurant also own another one of my favorites (Feast@316)! The food is MAGNIFICENT, the atmosphere is perfect for a night out and the service is excellent. Quick tip: eating small plates here is the way to go so you can try a little bit of everything!"
