"My husband and I wanted to try a new place instead of going to our regular spots. We searched for food near me in Google maps and this place came up. The restaurant was empty which made me leery but my husband suggested we give it a shot anyways. I'm glad we stayed!! The gentleman working were all kind and the cook did fabulous on our meal! My husband ordered the fried catfish basket with fried okra and hush puppies. He said it was perfectly battered and seasoned and the okra was on point! I had the pulled pork po-boy with onions peppers and mushrooms. The flavor was sweet from the drizzled BBQ sauce and the fries complimented it with just enough salt vs sweet. We'll definitely be back!"

"This was one of my last stops while on my trip in Portland. I realized I went to a bunch of restaurants but didn’t patron a Black Owned. The reviews were promising. However, once there some food items weren’t available like their sweet potatoes. I ordered fried cat fish with fries and cornbread( I received an extra one which I am assuming was because they ran out of the side I wanted) which was kind of the waitress. However, I was disappointed in both the catfish and cornbread. The catfish was fried to perfection but lacking flavor and the cornbread was dry and bland."

"Ruby greeted us and was our waiter. Super nice. I had the pulled pork with hushpuppies w/red beans & rice on the side. Also had a piece of sweet potato pie for dessert. Not pictured but it was super dank. 10/10 would recommend."

"Loved the atmosphere, food and presentation. The fried catfish had a unique delicious coating, cooked perfectly. They offer cornbread or hushpuppies with your meal. The entire staff looked cheerful and we had such a pleasant meal."
