Castle Rock Wayside County Road C, Camp Douglas, WI 54618

"I saw this amazing rock formation on my way to MN, but it was too late to take its exit, so I passed by. On my way back, I managed to take the exit, and I am glad I did. I didn't even know what I was visiting. The history behind this rock formation is cool. It was actually an island. I stopped around 7 pm, so it was late, raining, and no one was there. I chose to take a short hike. It was impressive and peaceful. I didn't wanna go down the hill and explore since it was late. I am planning to take another trip with my friend to unlock more of its beauty."

"Awesome wayside for a quick visit or picnic lunch. Amazing area- mind boggling geology. Really feels like walking on a grassy beach - some semi-level trails but mostly uneven. Primitive bathrooms but they’re there... thought provoking to enjoy the solitude under the rock shade as you hear traffics from 90/94 rolling by in the background."

"Another great ancient island well worth visiting! This is a beautiful area with plenty of parking, picnic tables, grills, a shelter, water fountains, and bathrooms, and the views aren't half bad either, lol. Located right across the street from a military base that also has giant rock outcroppings with a fire tower and a historical marker (I wanted to see if I would be allowed to go in, but there were already several vehicles waiting to get onto the base, and I didn't want to bother them). This is a great destination, and I recommend stopping in to check it out! There are several Pokestops and a gym here for the Go players."

"Nice spot to catch a break from driving for hours. Near the Air National Guard base, not sure if the public is allowed on base (perhaps only during open house?) This spot has I believe four or five picnic tables with most having a small grill. There are toilets here - men's & women's. A small trail leads up to the rock and perhaps around it (we didn't go all the way around)."

"Remember the days of hopping in the car going for a road trip and stopping for picnics along the way. Well this is one of those spots perfect for a picnic along the roadside nice little price of nature with short hiking trails around the castle rock plenty of space, parking, and picnic areas. Even grills at some of them( bring a brush or oinon to clean grill 1st) only issue is road sound from I-90/94"
