"Beautiful park right on the water, nice boat landing in this little bay! Great place for a picnic"
"Wow, this park is a gem! Lots of room and equipment (tables, playground, docks, boat ramp, bathrooms). We only stopped in to rest while driving and have lunch but we found ourselves looking at home prices nearby. It'll definitely be on our favourite park list while traveling from now on!"
"Boat landing, fishing piers, benches for vibe checks .. this spot has it all. There are also picnic and playground areas for family days. Personally I visited on a windy day so combined with a few wakes, it was relaxing to sit in the grass listening to waves."
"Nice quiet on the Lake. Some downed limbs from recent thunderstorm being cleaned up."
""...to look after local conservation and to keep the lake shores and other beauty spots from being snapped up by real estate dealers and private persons who will rule out the public from their own lakes." -J.C. Wilcox, 1927 A nice slice of public space in the form of a lake side park with shelters, bathrooms, playground equipment and some of the oldest trees within the city boundaries. Favored as a boat landing, which took away park space, due to the more sandy bottoms (a benefit of being just on top of the old sandy swimming beach of yesteryear) and close to the head of Lake Menomin and more well supplied with docks and care than the other public Menomin landings. Often referred to as the same as "Butch's Bay," but that is the name of a resort area that bordered Point Comfort park. This park was early on known as Picnic Point, although somewhat different as well as connected to Evergreen Cemetery by land at one time, became a picnic and recreation location even before Lake Menomin had a name. The owner of this land (Frank C. Jackson) at that time had no issues with letting people come and enjoy this great location (unlike the private-owned locations that exist here today). J.C. Wilcox headed the way for the city of Menomonie to purchase this park in 1923, it was improved upon throughout the years into 1958 when the current Lake Menomin level was reached which after a few years settled the newer shoreline to a that which we see today."
