"Exciting section to kayak. I'd recommend practicing ahead of time. I didn't really know what I was doing and got stuck in shallow rapids several times. Had a blast though. If it looks dicey to you, just portage. I went in mid-June and had a great time."

"Peaceful and serene walking through the woods on the paths winding next to the Brule River! Beautiful place for a one hour hike. Not strenuous at all, if you’re looking for easy-going."

"This place is awesome. The only reason I didn't give this a 5...there is a perfect place to swim in a little bit deeper hole and families seemed to take advantage of that(I don't blame them). That hole would otherwise hold fish and that was why I was here. Wading was easy and if you search, you will find other deeper sections that hold trout. Lots of little ones but every now and then something a little bigger would show itself. The scenery was beautiful, so little development alone the Brule river corridor."

"This is a great spot to enjoy your lunch or watch paddlers try (and often fail) to run the ledges. The ledges themselves are a pretty cool feature. Anyone not that familiar with northern Wisconsin rivers will find this to be a nice little hike to enjoy a bit of nature. There is a long path and some wooden box stairs to work your way down to the river from the parking lot."
