"The staff is nice and the dog is excited when we drop her off."
"My girls always come home so tired, and they are so excited whenever we pull in. They can't wait to get out of the car. We have boarded here multiple times for short and long stays, and our babies have returned happy. The staff are incredibly friendly and care about the girls. They know our girls and are happy to see them enter the door. You can tell they genuinely care about all the dogs in their care. Another wonderful thing is that they do a fantastic job showing interest in each dog and their different needs. I feel very comfortable leaving my senior chocolate (with separation anxiety) and my puppy at this location. It's funny that my senior is more interested in socializing with humans than the other dogs; she has adjusted well and seems to have bonded with her human friends there. I couldn't be happier with the friendliness of the staff and caring attitude to our loved ones! I feel so at peace when I am working or away, knowing my girls are having fun and being looked after at a place where everyone is compassionate!"
"Today I was told that my dog was no longer welcome back due to my dog chewing up floors and couches. This is absolutely understandable. The issue is that they did not tell me this had been going on for months, which is concerning considering she could have been eating foreign objects or has had anxiety at this daycare center (my dog has never behaved this way). I called the owner to let him know that I was not made aware and that I didn’t want this to happen to other dogs. He very rudely said that I had been told multiple times by staff that this was happening and he didn’t know what I wanted him to do. If I would have known that this was an ongoing issue, I would have immediately removed my dog and not waste money on this place. Even if your dog is an angel at home, you never know what happens at daycare. Consider this before sending your dogs here! Response to the owner: If we would have known this we would have removed her from your care immediately. We totally understand being upset about damage but why wasn’t she removed when the damage happened? why did this go on for months? It is not my intent to damage your business which is why I gave you a call to make you aware of the situation, instead you completely disregarded my concerns so we decided to share our experience via google review."
"We took our two small dogs to barkin up Delafield for 4 days and 3 nights. This was our first time using a boarding place, which I did make clear to the staff. The first thing we noticed when dropping them off is the girl who was taking them didn't tell us any information at all regarding their schedules, when they will be fed, what time they let them out in the mornings, asked no questions at all about them and we hadn't met her at the orientation day. I found that the first strange thing that we had to ask about this things ourselves because this girl was just going to take them without a word. And yes, i was teary eyed never leaving them before so i expected a little kinder bedside manner you could say. We left food for them both enough for the entire time they were there even putting them in baggies with each of their names on them so it'd be really easy to feed them. When we picked them up there were 3 bags of food they gave back to us so they were not fed properly. We came home and found they both had really bad diarrhea which led to them having to go into the vet a few days later when blood was found also. Also when getting home we let them out to pee and one of them in particular went so long like he hadn't been let out in days, never seen anything like it before. Upon bringing them in the house we had to refill their water dishes twice because they were so thirsty they drank more than I've ever seen them do in their lives. We understand there is access to outdoors and water there, but knowing that our dogs were so shy and kept to themselves, being their first time at a place like this,(from the orientation day) we would think someone would pay attention to feeding and letting them out properly which was clear did not happen. I am so disappointed in this place and will never use it or recommend them to anyone."
"My girlfriend and I went to Delafield this past weekend and brought our dog to a hotel that allowed pets. When we got there were told that it would be a $250 fee for leaving him alone in the room. So we called Barkin' Up and spoke to Ben who was very accommodating. We had a wedding to get to that afternoon and he explained that normally they don't do same-day bookings but they were able to squeeze in a temper test for our pup and board him for the night. Our little buddy seemed like he had a lot of fun at Barkin' Up. If we end up in that area again and need to board, we'll definitely be returning customers."
