"We visited the office of summit credit union to open a bank account for my wife , we were helped by the banker Fayyad . He addressed all our concerns and helped us with his expertise . Happy to be part of summit family . Fayyad is great in handling customers with care !! Kudos to Fayyad !!"
"Just the worse company all around. I have applied here twice over the last few years, both times these clowns denied me, both times I was approved by another lender the same day. The first time I applied for a $4000 loan to get a work truck. Summit denied me, but CapitalOne approved me for $43,000 (Yes, those numbers are correct.) The second time, I applied for a $6500 ATV loan and was told I would get a call back when the underwriters were done looking into everything. I never got a call, so I followed-up only to find out I was again denied. They had no intention of letting me know, just left me wondering. I applied with my bank and was approved in less than an hour. I make good money, have a decent credit score and have NEVER defaulted on a loan. I will never do business with these guys."
"I just saw a Summit TV commercial and it was seriously misleading compared to my experience. In 2018, I applied for a residential construction loan. Our account at Summit was opened in 1984, we owned our building lot ($70k equity), had a history of paying off previous notes early and my wife and I had 800+ credit scores. The GOOD news was that we were approved. The BAD news was that Summit required an additional $100k, which was all of our money in my Summit savings account. Summit wanted me to put up 63% equity on my residential building project. They acted like they were doing me a favor. I went to what is now called Bank Five Nine. They were confused by Summits requirements and gave me more than I had applied for using just the equity in the building lot we owned. Earlier this year, Wisconsin Department of Revenue requested my property tax payment from my Summit checking account that had plenty of funds available. For some reason, Summit refused the debit transaction, which has occurred every year since 1995. By the time I figured out that Summit had refused to release funds to pay my tax State of Wisconsin tax payment, it cost me $233 in penalties and fees. Summit customer supports response?, "We don't know why your payment was refused." In short, Summit works great for the 'little' financial transactions in your life like, debit for gas or groceries, using ATM for a little cash or maybe a funds transfer to the kid at college who needs a few bucks for a pizza. But for the BIG financial aspects of your life, you should seek out a more serious financial partner."
"Every time there has been a problem withy account dealing with fraud prevention, Summit Credit Union has been on top of it and has sent me notifications of possible fraud attempts against my account. They have always been fast and friendly in all of my experiences at every branch I've visited, even during the epidemic. This company is the first to provide me with a positive banking experience after I have lost money from other banking facilities due to employee theft and electronic wire fraud."
"When my husband and I moved to WI I researched banks in the area to get established with. We knew we would eventually be buying a home and wanted to start that financial relationship with a local credit union. At first I loved Summit. The lady who opened our account was very nice and everyone seemed welcoming. However their ATMs are very outdated and don't allow deposits as do many other banks. Also the last two experiences I had with a loan officer to get advice was not a pleasant experience. Both times they made me feel inadequate for even 'needing' a loan. Almost like if it wasn't an easy cut a dry application they weren't interested. They advertise so much about wanting to help and advice their customers however treating them as though they are beneath you is distasteful and unprofessional. Im still in the market for an auto loan and will be looking into a home loan in the next 2 years. However Im pretty sure it won't be with this credit union."
