Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions, as summers can be hot and dry, while winters can be cold with foggy conditions. The park also offers reservable group picnic sites at Granite Bay and Black Miners Bar, which can accommodate up to 100 and 50 people respectively. Reservations can be made in advance through the Folsom Sector Office.

"We love coming here in the winter when the lake is low. It creates a big beach space with a lot of rocks for kids to climb and explore, and our dog loves running around here, and climbing the rocks as well. These photos were taken at Beale's Point State Park, which has ample picnicking, swimming areas, and camping in spring and summer."

"Nice place for relaxing on the beach, or biking, and bringing your kids. They are boat rentals, and lots of picnic areas. We were here on a Sunday and there is plenty of parking all around the lake. The park fee is $12 for a passenger car. If you prefer privacy, they are lots of empty beaches around."
