"If you are an international student and you are looking for the good program to improve your English skills, the EAP Program at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee is a perfect choice. As an international student here, I found that beside the strength of education, the EAP program also offers cultural integration support, helping students adjust to the life in the United States and providing guidance on academic, and practical matters. Additionally, I also love teachers here because they are friendly as well as they have a strong commitment to student success. So I would say that EAP program at the UWM is an excellent choice for international students looking to enhance their English skills and thrive in a university setting."
"If you’re an international student or just a non English speaker looking to improve your English, the University Of Wisconsin - English Language academy (UWM - ELA) is made for you. On top of providing useful resources, they have a really great teaching style. For example, when I was in the Intensive English Program (IEP) there were kind of a personalized one on one classes. What I mean is that the teachers were always involved and concerned with student learning. Depending on the class, we had activities designed to learn quickly in a good environment. We had group activities/discussions to think about topics or to help each other improved our thinking in English. During these activities/sessions we would even get to know more about American culture which helped enhance our vocabulary. I was also in the English For Academic Purpose (EAP) program which is a designed program for international students who would like to learn more about academic works and requirements base knowledge. To describe it in big lines, there are diverse classes made for different purposes of academic requirements, each with a different difficulty level. In brief, I recommend the UWM’s ELA to all non native English speakers who would like to improve their English."
"I rate the University Language Center program at UWM 4 stars. The instructors are knowledgeable, and the curriculum is well-structured. The language immersion activities are beneficial for practical learning. However, there's room for improvement in incorporating more interactive sessions to enhance communication skills. Overall, a commendable program for those seeking English language proficiency."
"I do really recommend the ELA as a great resource to UWM students. I am currently enrolled in the EAP program. It is a fantastic learning resource, particularly for writing-related courses. The teachers take a rigorous and interesting approach to education. Speaking lessons are fascinating as well; our instructor helps us create podcasts, which is something I've always wanted to do. I had assumed English classes would be dull at first, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the lecturers employ creative and engaging teaching strategies. For me, it has turned learning into a delightful experience."
"The EAP program is an excellent learning course, especially in terms of writing. The instructors are thorough and engaging in their teaching approach. The speaking classes are also very interesting; our teacher guides us in creating podcasts, something I've always wanted to do. Initially, I thought English classes might be boring, but to my surprise, the teachers use innovative and enjoyable methods to conduct lessons. It has made learning a joyful experience for me."
