"This is a scam! I have spoken to insurance and they are double billing! As a consumer, we all have rights and they are violating them. DO NOT PAY them!!! Call an attorney instead!"
"Received good care the ER at Temecula Valley Hospital while on a trip to CA from Hawaii. However, the billing (Laperouse) for the the ER doctor sucks! They sent me a bill for the full amount. When I called they said they did not have my health insurance info (dual coverage). I gave them the info. A month later they send me a "Final Notice" bill for the full amount. Fortunately, I called my insurance carrier and they said a claim was in process. When I called Laperouse, the guy said to just disregard the bill. Hoping that the claim goes through soon and that I don't hear again from the billing company!"
"Believe the reviews regarding billing with Temecula Valley Emergency Medical Associates and believe the reviews about sub par medical care from this group. I went to Temecula Valley Hospital Emergency Room with severe back pain. Dr. Whitney Darnetia Johnson not only misdiagnosed my injury, she also did not respond to the requests from my Insurance Company for additional information. Now some collection agency is hounding me for a bill that I do not owe and that my insurance company has confirmed that I do not owe. I was misdiagnosed with Back muscle spasm; Lower back pain by Dr. Johnson. She said the severe sciatica was due to a muscle spasm in my lower back. That was not the case and the x-ray taken in the Emergency Room, while I was lying down is, according to my Spine Surgeon, an ineffective way to diagnose back injuries. Her aftercare advise which included applying heat and stretching was very, very, wrong for this type of injury and had the potential to make things much worse. Thankfully, I was able to see a competent physician the following Monday and had an immediate MRI and a series of X rays taken while I was in the standing position. The MRI revealed a Lumbar Vertebrae had actually slipped out of place, I had several bulging discs, and severe sciatica on my left side. I was in an incredible amount of pain. I absolutely 100% recommend that you do not use Temecula Valley Hospital Emergency and avoid this Quack doctor group. (since I have to give at least one star - that star is for the Emergency Room nurse that repeatedly called Dr. Johnson and let her know I was in severe pain- which this Doctor chose to ignore.)"
"Took my son back in December to the Loma Linda University Medical Center and they have my insurance on file yet I would always receive a letter weeks later that I owe a certain amount. I would call and they would put my insurance through again and the last time I spoke with an employee about this, he stated I didn't have to worry anymore. Now, I received a letter saying I owe about $700???? My insurance covers everything so there's no need for me to pay ANYTHING at all. This is ridiculous."
"I went in to see them and gave them my personal information--including my insurance card--and a co-pay of $300. 4 months later I receive a letter from a collections agency saying I'm delinquent on a bill. I called to follow up on it because I hadn't even received a bill. The lady I spoke with was quite condescending. She said something along the lines of "we sent you three bills. There's no way you didn't receive any of them." I was baffled but how could I dispute it. I didn't remember getting a single bill, let alone 3. She said that she'd check my information to see if she could research it a bit further. She asked me my address and I told her. She said "that matches the address you put on your form but not the address we have on file." Instead of using the address that I gave them--which is also the address on my insurance card--they used a past address that I had on my drivers license. I had moved and hadn't changed the address on my license yet. The multiple bills they sent me were going to a different address. I was furious and reminded her that because of their mess-up, I have a bill in collections. She apologized, pulled the bill back from collections, and sent me a new one...which I promptly paid. HOWEVER, there were 2 bills from the hospital. One was a doctor bill and one was facility bill. I learned this while on the phone. Of course I was unaware of this second bill as well. It had also been sent to my past address. I asked her to resend that bill as well. She said she couldn't because it was the other side of the hospital. She said she'd call them and then call me back the next day with a resolution. I asked her how I could contact her directly if I didn't hear back from her. She promised me she'd call me back. She didn't. I just received another letter from a collections company because of this second bill. Now I have to battle it all over again."
