"I have always appreciated the care I get at Kaiser; but their mental healthcare is practically nonexistent. I worry about my mental health everyday and will have to figure something else out. I feel like Kaiser doesn’t care about their patient’s mental health at all. I don’t even have a psychiatrist, just someone who prescribes my meds who I think works in the pharmacy. I need mental healthcare workers who give a damn and has the necessary qualifications to do a good job. Updated 11/21/23: I was able to book an appointment to get in to see a psychologist. Apparently they have a new system and it has gotten better. We shall see. Will keep you updated on how it goes."
"They helped me understand my mental health and know me better than myself ..."
"It’s worse than you’ve heard. I’m changing providers solely due to the treatment by this department. They gaslight, are impatient, don’t know how to handle patients, and think ALL mental illness can be cured with group therapy. It scares me that peoples lives are in their hands, because they are NOT safe."
"Honestly really bad experience. I’ve had probably 7 different assessments, (they ask the same questions over and over) and I’m not even exaggerating, yet I’ve still been shoved into an 8 week program and group therapy which I specifically said I didn’t want. They don’t let you talk about any issues, just give you homework and at the end of the 8 weeks they pretty much dump you. They will not give you mental health help when it’s already very difficult to ask for in the first place. If you have mental health issues, do not choose Kaiser and I hope you find help and happiness elsewhere."
"I had a very good experience here. I got the help I needed, and I left with a next step to move forward. My wait was not long at all. I literally came 20 minutes late for my appointment, and they called me in within 5 to 10 minutes as I filled out paperwork. My psychiatrist was very soft with her tone and words, yet very truthful and helpful. I felt a little unwelcome with some first impressions, but she was very sympathetic and warmly kind as we talked. I feel enough to say that I feel comfortable to return to this center and seek for help."
