"Overall, I do not recommend this gym. I liked it at first, it is clean and well maintained, but GM made me promises and they didn't come true. I don't recommend the customer service here, they are great at giving the run around. Called multiple times and left note for GM to call me, and never heard from him. Horrible customer experience with this gym."

"I have actually been a member since 2001. It used to be called Spectrum. It was well run up until the past few years when they let one of the members, a woman named Terri (Terry?) take over as manager. Since she has been "managing" the place, it is SO dirty, with huge areas of filthy carpeting, broken countertops in the ladies sink area of the changing room, ALL the bathrooms have one working toilet only, and the other toilets are closed/out of service with a plastic bag tied around the door handles. She refuses to fix the sauna, the steam room and the Jacuzzi (all broken under her management) so we have been without those amenities since she took over. If you ask her when anything might get fixed, her answer is always that "they might be remodeling soon." I have now heard this excuse from her for about 4 years. Five of my lady friends that used to be members there have gone elsewhere. How can a place not be cleaned or repaired? I only continue to stay there because I really like one of the teachers classes. (Kim). Terri unfortunately has let the place turn into a dump. What a shame :{"

"I drove 30 min for my weekly swim. Unfortunately I forgot the plastic card you receive when signing up. The receptionist Braxton was able to check my membership on the computer and let me in. When I asked for towels he refused because I do not have that piece of plastic card (and we are in 2024 right). I asked him, if there is anything he can do or maybe talk to his manager and the answer was simple NO! very poor customer service specially for a gym that is double the price of a regular gym. The day after I canceled my membership. I would not recommend to give Braxton a customer service position."

Upon arriving at the gym to play basketball with friends, Tirrell B went above and beyond by generously providing my boyfriend and me with day passes to explore the entire facility. This gesture immediately set a positive tone for our visit. The basketball court at Athletic Society West Valley stood out, surpassing even those at larger fitness chains like LA Fitness. The presence of one full-size court and a total of six goals allowed for a versatile and dynamic playing experience. What impressed me the most was the thoughtful design that accommodates both full-court games and individual shooting on the side simultaneously. Stepping into the gym, it was evident that Athletic Society West Valley is not your typical fitness center. The attention to detail was noticeable, from the well-designed basketball court to the presence of full-body massage chairs. Although I didn't try them out, they seemed like a luxurious and relaxing way to conclude a workout session. The friendliness and warmth of the staff added to the positive atmosphere of the gym. Every worker we encountered was welcoming, but Tirrell B, the general manager, stood out. His kindness, helpfulness, and sense of humor made it clear that he genuinely enjoys helping people. His personal touch added a unique and enjoyable element to the overall experience. While the gym might be a bit far for me personally, I wholeheartedly recommend Athletic Society West Valley to anyone in the Canoga Park area, especially athletes. The combination of a well-maintained facility, an outstanding basketball court, and a friendly and supportive staff, particularly the exceptional general manager, Tirrell B, makes it a top-notch choice for fitness enthusiasts in the area."
