"When you join Little Urban Farmers, you become part of the family. It’s not just a preschool, it’s truly a community where you as a parent feel confident in where your child spends the day and know that they are not just taken care of, but nurtured to thrive daily. In the first month that our child started attending, they bursted out of their shell. They were already pretty social, but even in the first week, it was a drastic change in the best way. Shaunte has really built a place of freedom and confidence for the children. They are allowed to be themselves there, exploring their interests, learning at their own pace and the staff is incredibly attentive to each one of the children and understands their individual needs. The space is beyond your wildest childhood dream. With a creek, mudpit, chicken coop, and a host of other opportunities to play and explore, my child comes back daily with a new experience. You can tell the impact it has just by simply looking at the families and how willing they are to involve themselves in the activities and field trips throughout the year. They go above and beyond with all that they do, with parent workshops, multiple field trips, and other activities, it’s truly enriching to the child’s life. I cannot thank Shaunte and her team enough for giving both our child and us a safe space to thrive."
"Three months in and our 2 y/o daughter is THRIVING @ LUFLS. Her verbal, social, emotional, and physical development has skyrocketed since starting. As first time parents, we feel fully supported by the LUFLS community. Teachers, parents, and kiddos are A+!"
"WARNING: Please do not send your child to this facility. Sadly my son was traumatized by the director and her daughter. If you vocalize your concerns directly to them or other parents they will terminate your child’s contract with no notice. The director has yelled at the kids on numerous occasions. She has spoken badly about a number of the parents to other parents. She runs the place based on fear and that is conveyed in all aspects. They are horrible with communication, my son has come home many times with injuries that were never reported and no one seemed to know what happened. They fired 2 of the most loved teachers out of nowhere and communicated it to us in the middle of the day via text. They began construction on their entire home without even letting us know. We were told the backyard was being re-done for the kids to enjoy. Little did we know construction dust and fumes would be inside the home where they sleep. They subjected us to years of covid/flu/rsv testing 1-2x a week during working hours. I have been told by shaunte in regards to me missing work, “I’ve lost business too”. They take about 7 weeks PAID vacation each year. So you have to pay twice for childcare during the holidays. They have a very long nap time and no outside play after nap so they come home with a lot of energy and don’t fall asleep until 10 or later as they get older. Also they are fed JUNK snacks and breakfast most of the time. There is no real concern for children, or families who work. Make no mistake they are out for their money. Even if you want out they will make you pay for 3 months after you leave if you do not give them 90’days (60 business days) notice. No one can do that when looking for new schools. Again, they are out for themselves and their wallet. Money and power hungry."
"Our son is so happy at LUF! We were very stressed about finding the right preschool when we moved to LA, and we're so grateful that we found Ms. Shaunte! The space is beautiful and inspiring for learning and creativity, and every student is valued and nurtured by the wonderful staff. If you're looking for traditional "daycare" while you're working full time it's a little hard because they follow LAUSD calendar so you need to find alternate coverage for school breaks, but if you can manage to arrange back-up, it's totally worth it!"
