"My advice, seek another form of therapy, there are no qualified therapist here, I paid for 8 sessions and only got about 4 because they cancelled for inclement weather, when I asked for a refund she told me I would get credit for my next session, my son didn’t want anymore session. When I told them that I didn’t want the service she answered “it’s ok we have a waiting list”. Then she told me that she has 150 clients basically she didn’t need my business. So to anyone donating to this shady business. Do the math 150 x400 = 60,000 Does she really need donations? Most of the workers are volunteers. You suck Donna"
"Literally the worst place I’ve ever volunteered. There is no communication, you can ask 3 supervisors the same question and get 3 different answers. They are constantly passing responsibility and playing confused only to mess with volunteers in some type of absurd power trip. Don’t waste your time volunteering here, they do not appreciate their volunteers and withhold hours and expenses from volunteers. Not a well managed non profit and incredibly disrespectful supervisors. I have not experienced that level of hubris when working for free ever in my life. I truly hope they pull it together and right their failing business model or just shut it down before anyone gets injured."
"This business likely provides a great service to the community and to the people they serve. I am appreciatIve of that. However, I am very unhappy with the way in which they conduct business. Please, let me explain what transpired. On 7/20, I emailed and called Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach (TRC). Both my email and phone call let it be known that I was looking to perform community service at TRC and asked for additional information. On 7/21 at 11:30am, I received a phone call from an agent (trc-A) of TRC in response to my voicemail. I don't believe it is necessary to reveal the name of trc-A because I believe that person to be working in accordance with directives from "the Board" and not on her own volition. Therefore, I think fault (if you find this conduct unacceptable, as I do) lies with the company's Board and not the individual communicating with me. During the 15 minute phone call, I explained that I had to complete 26hrs of community service and that I wanted to complete them at TRC, if possible. I was assured by trc-A that I could complete my hours at TRC and the duration of the phone call was about the different tasks we would be doing. We concluded the phone call with me telling trc-A that I was going to let my community service agency know that I was choosing TRC and trc-A let me know that she would find out when the next mandatory training would be. Once we hung up, I called my community service agency to let them know that I had made a selection. On 7/21 at 7:25pm, I received a call from trc-A to let me know that the Board President let her know that I could not complete my hours at TRC because they would refuse to take anyone with less than 40hrs. Needless to say, this was not communicated to me on our 11:30am phone call. In fact, it sounded like it was news to trc-A. I think there are two possibilities here. Either the President willy nilly made a new rule and trc-A was just informed OR trc-A had just forgotten. In any event, I asked trc-A if I could commit to performing 40hrs. trc-A told me that informally promising to give 40hrs would not be accepted. trc-A then suggested I ask my community service agency to change the required hours from 26 to 40. I said I could try this. On 7/22 at 8:15am, I called my community service provider to see if I could have my hours changed. This came as a shock to the representative. She said that she never heard of anyone asking for more hours but that she could not change it as it was considered an official court document. I explained that three friends and I decided to choose to perform our community service at TRC and I didn't want to be the only person not included here. This rep told me that trc-A should not have instructed me to have the agency change the hours as this would possibly be a crime - changing an official court document without direction from the court. Ok, no problem. I understood the reasoning. I told the representative that I would need to change my location and my friends would be doing the same. I was then told that each of us would need to pay approx $50 to change the location. On 7/22 at 11;50am, I called trc-A to ask the Board President to reconsider. I said that I would promise in writing to give 40hrs. Further, I explained the cost that I would incur to change my location as I had already indicated TRC. trc-A's response was "Well, that's how it is sometimes." No, trc-A. That is not how it is sometimes. I think that you handled this situation very poorly. I am paying to change locations and also asking my friends to do the same. trc-A also told me, "You know, we don't have to offer community service to you - we are doing you a favor." Yeah, trc-A, thanks a lot for the favor. All in all, I think you ought to stand behind your word and pursue what is right. In this case, I think trc-A and TRC Board President failed in that obligation. I don't wish you anything negative because, afterall, you are providing a good service. But I think it ought to be known how this company operates."
