"I found out I had endometriosis when I was 33 and had a laparoscopy, however still continued to have have increased pain and issues over the years. Everytime I spoke with a doctor, I was dismissed about my pain or was given no options to try and improve my quality of life. So years later, I decided to find a doctor who would listen and hopefully specialize in Endo and I found Dr Iris Orbuch and am so glad I did. She has helped turn my health around. While I will always have endo, so many of the elements that occur because of endo are greatly improved. I started Physical Floor PT, treated Sibo (which I did not know I had and is common with Endo), have been seeing a nutritionist to help with a diet that is better for Endo and had surgery. My surgery was long and a lot of Endo was removed. I am so thankful I had Dr Orbuch to expertly remove the Endo along with her PA Lisa Stern and Dr Vasilev. Dr Orbuch and Lisa Stern have been so caring throughout the whole process and I felt like I was being taken care of and things would get better. If you are struggling with getting help for Endo, I highly recommend Dr Orbuch!"
"If you are reading this, it means that you are extremely fortunate, blessed and lucky to have discovered Dr Urbuch. I am not exaggerating. I am the mother of one of her patients and can not recommend this doctor to you enough. She is simply the best in her medical expertise, in the way that she understands and consults with her patients and in her surgical skills. I could let frustration overwhelm me when I think about all the top-notch doctors who misdiagnosed my daughter with all sorts of incorrect conditions over a ten-year period. Even though we now know that she had textbook endometriosis symptoms, not one of her gynecologists, internists, rheumatologists, neurologists, etc had "endometriosis" on their medical radars. These negative experiences make my daughter and I realize that Dr Orbuch is exceptional. At her first meeting with Dr Orbuch, my daughter immediately knew that she finally found the doctor she had been looking for for years. Dr Urbuch listened, understood her issues and had a name for her condition. Dr Orbuch was very empathetic and spent time explaining endometriosis to my daughter. She did not rush the appointments, which set the tone for the mindset my daughter needed to adopt in order to start healing. Dr Orbuch discussed a clear protocol for my daughter to follow in order to get her mind and body ready for surgery. Dr Ubuch and her staff were readily available when my daughter had questions along the way. Today, a little over a year after her incision surgery, my 27 year old daughter is beyond thrilled to be feeling healthy and (finally) able to move ahead with her young life. We parents are only as happy as our most unhappy/unhealthy kid, so words can not express how fortunate, blessed and lucky my entire family is that my daughter moved to LA and discovered Dr Iris Urbuch. We will be spreading the word about endometriosis so other girls, like my daughter, get diagnosed quicker. "Thank you, Dr Urbuch". BDH"
"There are no words to explain the impact that Dr. Orbuch has had on my life. In my mid 20s, I began to experience a variety of debilitating symptoms that affected almost every major organ system in my body. I became discouraged after seeing doctor after doctor with no answers. I even began to question my own sanity after being told that my ultrasounds and other lab tests were "normal" and that the symptoms must be "in my head". Thankfully I was eventually referred to see Dr. Orbuch. Dr. Orbuch "gets it". She is not only an expert in endometriosis diagnosis and laparoscopic excision, but she is also empathetic and empowering to women. Within a few minutes of meeting her, I felt understood and validated. She educated me and provided me with the tools, resources, and referrals that I needed to get my (mental and physical) health back on track. Dr. Orbuch goes above and beyond any doctor that I have ever met. She is an incredible doctor and human. I cannot recommend her enough."
"What can I say about Dr Orbuch that would even begin to describe the way she has impacted every aspect of my life and changed it for the better! I want to cry when I think of the fact that I had to live 35 years with severe pain, discomfort, fear every period I would have because the pain was excruciating, and every other way that my endometriosis has affected me that I will not go into detail here. After decades of searching for an answer and being told by my male gynecologist that it’s impossible to tell if my symptoms were a sign I had endometriosis, fate intervened in the form of Dr.Leo Treyzon who uttered these magical words “you should see this doctor, her name is Dr Iris Orbuch, and she may be able to help you”. And she did!! She diagnosed me on our first meeting! Based on a lifetime of symptoms and an examination, she knew that endometriosis was the disease that had plagued me my entire life. From that moment, we started a protocol of preparing for surgery. It consisted of pelvic floor physical therapy - (highly recommend Fusion Wellness for this), changes in nutrition (Jennie Miremadi is incredible), and an overall “taking your hands off the hot stove” as Dr Orbuch likes to say. It was not easy, but I put in the work, and a few months later, when Dr Orbuch did my surgery excising all my endo tissue (and there was a lot of it!), I finally felt like a human being, and not some altered, suffering version of a person. My periods are painless now!! I am enjoying so many more things in my life, and all the other symptoms in my body that were caused by endometriosis are gone as well. I will forever be grateful to Dr Orbuch for what she did for me!!! I cannot recommend her more! Thank you for changing my life!!"
"Dear Endo Sister, If you're reading this, you've come to the right place! After living with my endometriosis pain and going undiagnosed for almost 20 years, I can honestly say it's worth it and there is hope. Dr. Iris Orbuch gave me my life back. At 36 years old (less than one year ago), I had given up hope and spent more time on the couch in pain with my heating pad than I did living the active life I loved. I couldn't work full time, got flares when I tried working out or having sex, and was exhausted and in constant pain. No matter how healthy I ate, most foods caused painful bloating. My periods were heavy and lasted 10-14 days every month. I had never struggled with anxiety or depression but withdrew so much from my social life due to pain and exhaustion, that both of those became prevalent. It took a toll on my friendships, relationships with my husband and family, and my emotional wellbeing. I had never felt more alone. After trying to mentally prepare myself (usually a monthly occurrence pre or post period) that this was the way I'd have to live until I went into menopause, a friend of mine told me about a pelvic floor therapist who then referred to me to Dr. Orbuch. I was so skeptical to see yet another doctor but decided to make an appointment. As I sat in her waiting room, I couldn't help crying as I read so many women's stories of their journeys and how this doctor has helped them. At that moment I knew I wasn't alone and that I was in exactly the right place. Five months later I had excision surgery with Dr. Orbuch and within the first week felt better. A weight had been lifted. I wasn't crazy or imagining the pain--lots of endo had been found and removed! As I write this review, it has been 4 months post surgery and I have been able to resume my active lifestyle pain free! Due to having the disease for so many years and where it was found in my body, I still have a long way to go with physical therapy, regaining strength, maintaining stress levels, and fixing my digestive issues. Physically, mentally, and emotionally I have made a 180 degree turn from where I was at a year ago which is an incredible feeling. If you are still reading this, know you are not alone and that there is hope and options out there for you. Your life can definitely be regained! You don't just have surgery and then have to fend for yourself--a plan is set in place to get you to where you need to be to be able to live your best life moving forward! I can't say enough about this amazing woman and the work she is doing to help other women, along with educating healthcare professionals on this painful disease that plagues so many of us. I want to thank Dr. Orbuch and her team for their amazing support and everything they have done to help me get my life back. The encouragement through the process along with the team of providers pre and post op have been so wonderful. Thank you! Love, Hilary"
