"DO NOT GO HERE We are filing a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and suggest others with similar experiences do the same. There seems to be a trend of bad business practice here by misleading customers and not being upfront about costs. We have brought our cat here two times and both have been awful experiences. This review is for our most recent visit on April 12th, 2023. We called to schedule a rabies three year vaccine shot and were quoted $90. I brought our cat in and was immediately taken into a room to wait for a vet. The vet came in and was friendly. She asked how our cat was doing and attempted to clarify the services for the day. She asked if it was for a check-in and rabies shot and I corrected her that it was just for rabies shot. She acknowledged and we continued on, then she took him out of the room for the shot. He was brought back in a few minutes later and the shot was complete. I closed out the invoice and a receipt was emailed to my fiancée. We immediately noticed that the invoice had an additional exam fee on it. We called and they said that the exam was required in order to get the vaccination shot. We asked why that wasn’t explained to us and why we were only quoted the rabies vaccination fee when booking. They basically said we should have known that. More importantly, I asked why the vet didn’t tell me that when I explained our cat was only there for the rabies shot. They said it was unclear and put it back on us that we should have known. Again, it if that’s the policy fine. But they hid that from us and were very quick to explain it after that fact. We called to speak to a manager, who was rude and lacked any compassion whatsoever. She put the blame on us and wouldn’t acknowledge that the entire process was misleading. But there are several reviews like ours so clearly they have a habit of deception to try to get extra money from people. They are unethical and shouldn’t be able to get away with this. I’m expecting the business to respond and say they feel the service was validated and they’re sorry we feel this way. Please don’t."
"This place is great and affordable. The vet listened to my concerns and talked me through pricing options. The staff is super friendly and went out of their way to make my dogs comfortable. I'm very glad this is my new vet."
"We had a great experience bringing our cats in for a wellness checkup. Front desk staff were friendly and the vet & vet assistant were knowledgeable and great to work with! We were seen right at our appointment time and were in and out seamlessly."
"Very happy with the care my 13 year old cat had at Whipple Pet Hospital. I made a request via an online form and they responded via email to explain their appointment handling and cost. They scheduled a next-day urgent care appointment. The waiting was minimal, I was asked to approval all charges before the ran tests. I used my phone to email the clinic my pet's previous medical records while I was in the exam room and the vet had reviewed them prior to coming in. The vet was very professional, discussed the previous treatments she had reviewed from the records and how those impacted her decision for her treatment plan, and she had me come into the radiology area to explain when the X-rays revealed."
