Reviews
"I was a little nervous moving in after reading the reviews but we couldn’t be happier. Been here a year and due to current housing market will probably be here longer than planned. We are in a middle unit and rarely hear noise from neighbors. Plenty of space and a great storage room. Have put 2 maintenance requests through and both were taken care of within 24 hours. Cassie is easy to work with. Happy we chose Latitude 44!"
"A lot of these reviews are old or not very details so let me take a moment to fill you on this little gem. So we are 2 adults in our early 30s with 2 kids and 2 cats. So these are 2-3 bedrooms in a townhouse with a garage. They come with a washer/dryer, have a nice pool in the center of the complex with a little playground too. It has a nice little concrete slab we put a little outdoor table set on and it’s nice to just sit out and enjoy the weather and have the kids playing in the playground. It’s within walking distance to Kwik trip a subway and a few other things all about within 1.5miles. We have taken quite a few trips to kwik trip and made it like a little adventure that the kids remember very fondly. It’s right off the interstate so easy to get places. So a lot of good little places to buzz around to close by. The Apartment itself is a great build quality, we lived in a middle unit both times staying here and neighbors never once complained about noise (at least not to us) and we have a child with autism and he can be rather loud at points. Solid build on the cabinets, appliances etc. No pantry room so kinda have to be smart when putting food away and no ice maker on the fridge. That killed us so we had to amazon in an ice maker because we drink so much more water when it’s cold(first world problem I know) The rooms aren’t huge but are plenty big enough within reason. We had a king sized bed plus an office desk and chair in the master bedroom. It was a little tight but made it work. All the appliances and everything with the apartment has newer build so utilities are quite a bit cheaper than a similar house. We had an electric car even and plugged that into the garage (obviously rates were incredibly slow without a dedicated plug but) it worked for us to have access to an outlet Rent for us was quite a bit cheaper we stayed in a similar house for about 1400 where as these were 1045 with 50 off if you paid on time. (Obviously that will change with market fluctuations so i wouldn’t plan on that staying at that price but at least when we stayed here it was a great deal in comparison) As with any apartment, they take care of snow removal, mowing, trash, and recycling. Snow/grass is always on point even if it is a bit early some days but better to have it done. Trash/Recycling can suck sometimes but honestly I don’t blame the apartment for it since they probably have someone set on a schedule. Just the amount of stuff in recycling for example can vastly differ especially around holidays because everyone is opening boxes and throwing them away at different times. IMO the recycling schedule could be upped a bit but it was never a big deal. Parking you get your garage and the spot in front and there are bunch down by the office if you have someone visiting so never had a problem there. You mostly work with Cassie and I know other reviews say she doesn’t respond etc she does and has always been courteous, helpful, professional and always a treat to work with but you do get the feeling she’s busy so a lot of times I would always try to email unless it was something slightly more urgent or if it was a maintenance thing I just put it in on the app, which that’s how we paid rent too. The gym leaves a lot to be desired but it’s something you could at least break a sweat and not break the bank. So we moved in twice and moved out twice. The first time we bought a house down in Illinois as first time home buyers and was great but the utilities down there for a bigger place was a lot so after a few years we decided to come back because this little gem is everything we need and was our number 1 choice. We just left again because we found something similar but in Montana and that’s where our heart really is so we had to make the jump given the opportunity but if anything were to come up and I need a place to stay in WI this is by far best choice. It’s like medium-high end quality at lower end price in a good neighborhood right next to the schools with lots of things to do...5/5 2 thumbs up"
"Cheap living"
"Be ready to hire your own maintenance people when things break because aside from taking your check, service/staff/maintenance is /non existent/. I used to call every other day, for weeks on end, to get only a FEW issues resolved, eventually it became too much of an annoyance in my life and got them fixed on my own. We're talking months of no resolution or appointments made and then nobody showed up, or someone showed up but didn't fix the problem. I think it took 6 weeks for my closet door slider to get fixed from when I moved in. The other residents I know, some friends for years prior to moving in here, have the same, or worse, experience with Latitude 44 staff. To recommend anyone (sorry to those who I did recommend to rent here) to lease at Latitude 44 would be a mistake. The total lack of respect from the staff really makes me think twice about Cypress Homes (who built/runs these). It's not a cheap apartment, but I'm treated as though it is. It truly is upsetting because of all the places to rent in Appleton, these appeared to be, bar none, the nicest, most 'modern' for the price, and most cared for. I don't know where I will go from here, wish I felt comfortable enough with them to renew, but I'm unsure at this point. I still have issues with this unit that I had when I moved in, and am almost done with my 1 year lease! If anyone at Latitude 44 or Cypress Homes reads this, Hello! Fix the problems I reported to you last May and fix all the other problems residents are having (mainly the ones who I recommended to move here, and then signed 2 year leases), we would really appreciate it, and I'm sure so would your reputation."
