Best Western Plus Appleton Airport/Mall Hotel

"I stayed with a friend for a girls weekend for 2 nights in mid February. Checking in was easy, till we got to our room and it wasn't cleaned. We immediately went back to the front desk where they fixed our situation and got us in a different room. No issues after that. Turns out the cleaning crew marked the wrong room number as being cleaned.. it happens, I've worked in a hotel, I'll admit I was a little wary at first but we had no other issues. After that, we had an awesome weekend. The room we got was clean, nice layout, (bedroom , bath, kitchenette and living room area) I think the most comfortable bed at a hotel I've ever slept in. My friend and I teased we wished we could take it home with us. They have a free breakfast in the lobby area in the morning. My friend went down, said it was biscuits, sausage and cereal, she said it was ok. The free coffee and tea area in the lobby was great!! There is a pool but we didn't use it. The hotel is located just north of the mall area, it was quiet, not a lot of traffic. Near lots of restaurants and shopping. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will definitely stay again."

"I stayed here with my daughter and her father for a cheerleading competition. The check-in was easy, the pool was clean, and the breakfast was good. The person who checked us in was extremely helpful. The room was large. The only issue I had was that there was not a fan in the bathrooms at this hotel. If you took a hot shower, you had to open the bathroom door to get rid of some of the heat and steam. Overall, we had a great stay. We even ordered pizza from Domino's, and they delivered directly to our room."

"There was hair in the sink and bathtub when we got there. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was OK. The floor by the food was really wet and people were running in and out of there bare feet, which really wigs me out because I know it’s a health code thing. The pool and hot tub area was OK but the hot tub jets weren’t working. They had a sign saying they were waiting for parts so that was understandable. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I was expecting more from a hotel that was rated exceptional."

"I can't say that much went right at this hotel. In the room itself, the air conditioner was broken, one of the bathroom lights was broken, the main bathroom light was wired to a 15 minute timer. That timer flickered throughout so that meant we had to pause every 15 minutes to turn the dial and occasionally tap it when it would flicker off. The first night we had an allergic reaction to the feather pillows. We told them of this and showed the hives and the response we got was, "Well these are the only pillows we have." This led to a 4 hour ER visit when my sister's reaction reached anaphylaxis. We had to ask to have them removed. You'd think that would be something obvious and offered. We asked for the sheets to be changed to mitigate any chance of further reaction. They weren't. We had to, after getting back at midnight, ask for new sheets so that we could do it ourselves."

"My wife and I made reservations (09/29) for the family room with the king bed and bunk beds. Check in is at 3:00pm. We arrived after 3 and there was a line in the lobby which is no big deal. Finally get to the front desk and was told that our room was not ready due to it not being cleaned because of the packers game that was Thursday night, which is odd because it was already Saturday. I was told it was going to be a short wait. After an hour I checked again and was told it was still not ready. After ANOTHER hour I was told our room was ready (room 203) I signed and got my room cards. Get up to the room to find the door opened, all the beds were not made, blankets on the floor, garbage was full and had food and whatever else on the lid. The bathroom was dirty and still had used soaps in the shower and toilet was not clean. Clearly this room was never touched even after waiting 2 hours. Horrible experience overall. Staff couldn’t care less that my wife and I with our two children had to wait over 2 hours and still did not have a hotel room. I asked for a refund and they stated I could have one but could possibly get a cancellation fee… I was given a code incase I see one or if the refund is not given on my credit card. I was super disappointed as best westerners are usually our go to hotel. Had to drive two hours back home with a very upset 1 year old to cap off this experience."
