"Great location! Next door to Longfellow Elementary. Very convenient since I have kids in both schools. So far, no complaints. My kid is very Happy at Hughes!:)"
"This school has the most amazing Green Team, headed by an incredible and dedicated volunteer leader. Year after year it has produced wonderful stewards of the environment. Keep up the great work!"
"Hughes was a good school, i graduated in 2012. lots of nice teachers. although there tends to be some bullying.. well not some but ALOT. many stereotypes there as well most are bad influences all around. but hey, no school can be to good(educationaly speaking). green team is amazing. and a great way to interact with your surroundings but if the school could mabye start some sort of bully awarness so kids can speak up. it'd be a better place for kids to focus."
"Dear Hughes Green Team: I walked home from work yesterday afternoon around 5:00, and as I got closer to the back of my home on Cerritos Avenue, a big smile grew on my face. I was SO delighted to see NO TRASH back there! What a great surprise. It looks so much better now that there are no candy wrappers, straw wrappers, chip bags, etc. Thank you so much for being such great leaders and for representing your school in your wonderful act of community service. Unfortunately, as you saw yesterday, not all Hughes students are considerate of others, and they just throw their trash on the ground, and it blows into our yards, making our neighborhood look absolutely awful. Perhaps you can continue to set an example and be a positive influence on your peers, persuading them to respect their neighbors and their own environment by properly disposing of their trash. Thank you very much. Cory Bilicko Your very grateful neighbor"
"Great school. I was going to this school in 1983 and they we're filming The Karate Kid. We couldn't have recess for 3 days so they could film. We saw Ralph Macchio kicking around a soccer ball, ha. Great memories of that school."
