"I studied with Arthur for 4 years and still visit the class periodically. As a young actor it's pretty easy to get snagged in some awful, scammy classes/ workshops that just look to maintain membership whether you've learned anything or not. From the first day that I stepped in, not once has it ever been more about anything else than your growth as an artist. Arthur's class is one of those rare spaces that you can't hide behind anything. All of your pretenses are stripped away and you can finally do some real learning. There's a real love in the room. Arthur teaches Stella's technique as it was originally taught, no self-promoting nonsense. And for me, this technique breeds a real confidence that together have provided a very strong foundation for when I go out and work. You learn how to analyze a text then think and make choices for yourself. Even amongst the most difficult works (which he will expose you to) your knowledge of how to work will invite creativity that just sort of leaps out of you. Arthur cares deeply about his students. Every. single. one of them. And he has a disarming quality that lets you know you can really grow here. If you're looking to speed through the process of learning and start working right away then NO, this class ain't for you. If you're looking to understand what you're doing and why you're doing it then I would say you've found your place."
