"In the wake of my mother’s death, I was the victim of a confidence game. Thus, I submitted a complaint to the State Bar Association re: Mr. Hyatt for the following reasons: misrepresentation, failure to disclose all the material facts and fraud. I retained his services for $2,000.00 to submit a Probate Petition on my behalf and nominate the professional fiduciary (PF) he recommended to serve as the administrator for my later mother’s estate. Mr. Hyatt never represented me. The Petition he submitted to the court cited the PF as the petitioner, requesting that he, the PF, be appointed to serve as administrator. Further, prior to the first hearing, Mr. Hyatt emailed signed contracts by the PF stating that he had already been appointed the administrator. Said contracts also cited that the PF had remitted the $2,000.00, not me. Further still, Mr. Hyatt said the last hearing had been cancelled and wished to know if he could retain the remaining funds plus additional funds to initiate representation with a new contract. I discovered that said hearing was not cancelled and refused his offer. At the hearing, without informing me, Mr. Hyatt withdrew the specious Petition. Nevertheless, the funds he spent were not reimbursed. The complaint was filed on October 9, 2022. On May 2, 2023, the State Bar’s Complaint Review Unit, the Office of General Counsel, requested my permission for an attorney to review my complaint. I consented. Note: The PF Mr. Hyatt recommended was issued five citations by the Professional Fiduciaries Licensing Bureau. His license is revoked."

"Mr. Hyatt initially seemed to want to help assist with my mother's probate matter, but soon fell off. Apparently this case, which involved an attorney taking advantage of a client, was intimidating and possibly beyond his scope. He didn't follow through and failed to appear in court on behalf of me, the client. Three days after the final court hearing, he resigned as the attorney of record without any explanation. Initially his costs weren't to exceed 7,500. But they did. Ultimately $10,000 was paid to Mr. Hyatt for services that were disappointing and ineffective. Nice guys don't win. He should have done more. He stated I did a better job of representing myself, than any attorney could.But he got $10,000. And the outcome of the case leaves many unanswered questions."
