"Bright lights, historical signs & great staff. If you like bright, classic neons, then this is the place to visit! I took my dad here for his museum visit since breaking his neck & cancer. It was the perfect size for my dad to walk. It brought back a lot of nostalgia. Plus, if you look around the back alley, you can see their bone yard or the signs waiting to be restored. Cool pieces of art, restoration, and information. I’ll be back."
"This was my second visit to the museum. My previous visit was about 2 years ago. They pretty much had the same displays in their main room with a few new ones. This time around They featured some plasma art. It's definitely well worth it to check this place out. The questions I had regarding some of the pieces were answered by a very knowledgeable staff. The only bad thing I can say about the museum is I wish it could be bigger. Very colorful, nostalgic and priceless. I will be back"
"I noticed this museum on Google maps while searching for something else and I immediately made plans to visit. The museum has a fabulous collection of both artistic & commercial neon as well as a display of plasma art. Staff were friendly and informative. Be sure to bring along a quarter so you can watch the devil dance!"
"Excellent, intimate space filled with a colorful, often moving collection of neon art. Many are recognizable from Los Angeles area landmarks. Open later, until 7 pm."
"If you love NEON, this is the place for you. Nostalgic signs from defunct businesses around Los Angeles. There was a friendly, knowledgeable docent whom you can ask questions about the various signs on the day we visited. Matsu no Sushi sign graced an old school, pre-Nouvelle Sushi restaurant run by what may have been two older, no nonsense sisters in Little Tōkyō, Los Ángeles in the 1960's. You can still sample a near exact copy of their down home Sushi at Sakaè Sushi in Gardena. Museum is compact and can be seen in about 45 minutes. I wish there were a viewing room to show a video of past, glorious neon signs that existed in Los Ángeles. Gift shop has a nice selection for the neon aficionado. MONA restores neon signs and leaves them en site to keep them in context of their neighborhood. MONA also trains budding neon artists to continue the artistic tradition. They are a positive organization that strives to create a more aesthetically liveable city scape. Bravo!!! Parking near the Grove is tricky, but there is street parking as well as nearby lots."
