We stayed in stunning places in Venice, Florence, Rome, and London that allowed us easy access to each city. Plus, she helped us plan unforgettable excursions in each location including a full day tour of all of Venice's most famous locations, a wine tour through the hills of Tuscany, an authentic cooking class in Rome, and tours of all of Londons most famous spots. This trip was a huge undertaking especially with 2 of our 3 travelers never having been to Europe. Travel planning is a lot of work and Turning Waters Travel made everything so much easier. ""I simply do not have words to describe the amazing trip from which I just returned. Brenda Pearson, with Turning Waters Travel, arranged our trip to southeast Europe from the river cruise, airfare, transfers, and local things to do, eat and see. We boarded the AmaBella with AmaWaterways for a trip up the Danube River. Even though the Danube River was low, and we had to be bused from Bucharest, Romania to Turnu, it was still a trip of a lifetime and we got to see the countryside of Romania. We toured the countries of Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary. We spent the first 3 days in Bucharest, staying in a boutique hotel right in the heart of Old Town, and joining a day-long trip to Transylvania, including a tour of Dracula's Fortress on Halloween! The ship offered local guided excursions exploring the history and culture of all the countries we visited. The staff on-board were spot-on in their service and the food was delicious and served with beautiful presentations. Ama Waterways brought in several troupes of dancers and singers who showed us local traditions. The ship also offered wellness classes, massages, hair salon, pool/jacuzzi, chef’s table for a special dinner and of course great entertainment. Brenda Pearson organized a private tour with Gabriella, a local guide, in Budapest. It was completely amazing, with a stop in an old coffeehouse and pastries which were works of art! The 4 ½ hours we spent with our local guide truly was a gift. Learning where the best place to exchange money, best pharmacy, best thermal baths, to the most exquisite coffeehouse with homemade pastries, near the opera house was perfect. Two special highlights for me were when we were invited to private homes in Bulgaria and Serbia to learn how to make dishes reflecting the local cuisine. They shared their recipes!
