"I have never felt so disrespected by a physician in my life. The energy immediately felt off, starting with the medical assistant taking vitals. The doctor then walked in and seemed very uninterested. It felt like neither he nor his staff cared and that maybe he doesn’t like what he does. He was rude when I said I had used OTC nasal spray. Stating which one because there’s a bunch of them, with a little sarcastic laugh. He literally sat there and spoke to me like I was stupid. I mean spoke to me slow paced like I wasn’t comprehending. And he kept bringing up my autoimmune disease which had nothing to do with my nose. My diagnosis is a deviated septum. He refused to do anything about it, which IS his right, but it was his reasoning that was off. His reasoning was if he made a mistake, put a hole in my septum that he couldn’t fix, it got infected, yellow and crusted over, would that be worth it. (His exact words) After some long, hard, thinking, I agree. ENT is your specialty, so if you have no faith in your ability to excel in your area of expertise and do a surgery that you specialize in, maybe you shouldn’t be performing surgeries on people. I have Sarcoidosis and I’m in remission but he focused on my Sarcoidosis stating that people with this autoimmune disorder don’t heal right. I felt very discriminated against. I have had 2 surgeries since my diagnosis and healed just fine. No two people are alike so he can’t say how I would heal because he doesn’t know me or my body. He told me to stop taking my nasal spray and he wanted to put me on steroids for my deviated septum which I declined. I was so embarrassed that he was speaking to me like this with my daughter there that it made me speak up. It wasn’t until I mentioned that I was a nurse, that I felt like he was just a little interested in how I felt. As evidenced by his response that he understood how I felt with constant congestion. Then he provided me the number to a second ENT specialist as I requested. The more messed up part was the after visit summary where it said stop taking Afrin which I never stated I was taking at this present time. It also mentioned turbinate hypertrophy which was never explained as well as an ablation which was never offered as an intervention. Perfect example of why you don’t judge a book by its cover. I worked a few 12 hour shifts back to back and was exhausted so I walked in looking a hot mess but I was very knowledgeable from start to finish."

"Excellent Doctor with a great bedside manner. Always open to a conversation about my care and treatment. Quite willing to spend the time during an appointment. Would highly recommend."

"Just awful. So sad that my mom had an appointment with Dr Miyama who had terrible bedside manner. My mother is 86 years old and was treated very poorly. He was rough and while cleaning ears, made them bleed. She was in pain and he roughly turned her head more than once and didn’t explain anything. Made her feel like she was inconveniencing him by being there. Was rude when asking her why she was there. Didn’t understand that without her hearing aids in, she couldn’t hear and asked her questions she couldn’t hear. Thankfully I could help as a go between. Made her feel her concerns about a potential thyroid problem were bothersome. Told me to pick up some over the counter drops and come back for a hearing test. I’ve never left a review about a dr before and I’ve seen many, but I’m horrified by the man’s treatment of my elderly mother. My poor mom said the dr prob had a bad day. She was gracious. He deserves none of her grace! Please do not visit this man!"

"0 stars...David T Miyama was the ENT I saw and it was hands down the worst medical experience I have ever had. I already called and filed a complaint. Miyama literally did not listen, told me I should be happy there wasn't anything on the MRI and that there was nothing he could do and slowly walked backwards out of the room while I was still talking. Check out his other reviews, many have experienced the same. Wishing I would have looked before I went. He walked out of the room and went behind the nurses station and stopped responding to questions. It was so bizarre. Wish I had a video of it."
