"Went to ER in January of last year due to chest pains at 4 am. I was kept in the ER for monitoring, tests, and meds. After nearly 2 hours, I had to use the restroom on the ER floor. It was filthy. There was urine and feces on the toilet and floor. I had to roll my IV stand over it. Waste basket was overflowing. It was awful. Eventually, I was admitted. I was so happy to get out of there and into a room. That being said...the nurses on the room floor were absolutely amazing. SO very kind, attentive and reassuring. The doctor who came in after being admitted was equally attentive. Did not rush through answering my questions. Food was mediocre. I realize it is hospital food...but lettuce had brown leaves and fresh fruit was mushy...unable to eat. In summary, care was GREAT. ER facilities poor, food fair..."
"I don't really like The Hartford Location. Aurora Hertford Hospital because They take a long time getting people out Or they say there's something wrong in then. They don't say there's nothing wrong with the kid. Is a great Aurora summit is a great hospital. I think they need to remodel Aurora, in Hartford Hospital and clinic Make aurora in Hartford bigger Like the emergency room Needs to be bigger. And remodeled. But otherwise it was pretty good. I give this a 3 star rating."
"Went to Hartford Hospital early in the am ( like 1am) Jan 9th I believe due to severe pain in my knee after injuring it. Mind you - it was also in the middle of a snow storm. Got there and got into a wheelchair and checked in. Eventually got put into a room and nurse did her thing- questions etc . X rays were taken - which I knew would show nothing cause I knew it wasn’t bone pain! It was more like a ripping/tearing sensation in my knee which I knew was cartilage ! I could barely move my knee without screaming in pain! Dr eventually came in (Dr Bashor) and asked questions and checked my knee as I’m in tears in pain. He explained that it was just arthritic pain and that’s what X-rays showed and I stated but that’s not the pain I’m having! I’m having more of a tearing/ripping sensation ! I asked if MRI could be taken and he said no as there was nobody in that dept to do that at that hour of the am! Crazy! I asked if I could be given anything for pain and he said NO very rudely !!! He said just take Tylenol or Advil and you will be fine! I asked if I could have a release form from work and he was like “Why?” Very rudely. I said because I can’t even bear weight on it ! He reluctantly said fine as if I was lying! I told him in front of his face he was rude! He was very rude and treated me like I was lying and as if I was faking all this! Which I was not! Just ask my husband! He walked out and nurse came back in and gave me a shot in arm for pain. Don’t know what it was and had a prescription for Voltaren - arthritic gel cream to put on! Really ? This was the WORST experience at an ER ever!!! I will never go back there for emergencies! Dr was rude and feel I did not get adequate treatment! It was a total waste of time and not to mention - money as I’m sure there will be an astronomical bill coming! When you go to the ER you expect to get treatment to relieve whatever is bothering you and you expect to be treated with respect and Dr Bashor was the worst! I did NOT receive adequate care or receive respect!"
"Went to Aurora for a colonoscopy. Not one of the enjoyable things in life. The staff made everything go excellent from pre-checkin to completion. Nursing staff was very caring, explained everything, and made you feel like you were actually being “cared for”."
"The nurses who took care of me, specifically Tilly, Angie, Jill and Gina were phenomenal! They were all so incredibly kind and caring to this parent who was very nervous. What a great Team they have there!"
