Reviews of Aurora Health Center
"Checked in online for urgent care. Gave me a time to arrive to be seen, got there on time, still waiting an hour later!"
"Doctor Jason Schad and his team (Jordon) were absolutely amazing. I went in today for an eye exam.... They spent a ton of time with me, making sure they had everything right for me before I left. They explained every last detail to me. I never felt rushed at all. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time. One of my best Appointments I've ever had at this location :) If you need an Optometrist I highly recommend making an appointment with Jason. The 2 men know what they are doing! Congrats to Aurora on finding talent like this!"
"Impossible to get an appointment! My children (ages 1, 3 and 5) are seen at the pediatric clinic by Dr. Hodzic. Let me say that both Dr. Hodzic and Amy are both wonderful. They are kind and caring and have sound clinical judgment BUT it’s impossible to get seen. In the past six months, I have been sent to urgent care at least three times because there weren’t any same day sick appointments (and may I add, I was calling at 8AM and they were booked for the entire day!). What is the point of having a primary doctor if you can never see them? My 1 year old was supposed to have her 15 month well visit on June 16 (it was scheduled after she was seen in March for her 12 month visit). That appointment got rescheduled due to the provider being on vacation. Our new appointment was July 3. Then 45 minutes before our appointment, I got a call that my appointment needed to be rescheduled because the provider would be out of the office. I was told the next available appointment was OCTOBER 18th. After sending a message to the nurse, they were able to schedule our appointment for July 19th. We were seen yesterday and when we left, I was told to reschedule an appointment for in 3 months and well, you guessed it, their next available appointment was in 4 1/2 months. How ridiculous?! I have left two messages (once on July 3 and once again on July 19) for the site manager to return my call so we can discuss these matters but I have yet to her from her."
"Went in last night because our 7 day old daughter scared us, and we are new parents. Usually do not like aurora because of previous treatment, but it was the closest hospital so we went to the E.D. The admission nurse was very nice, same with the phlebotomy, but we felt blown off, saw the doctor for 2 mins before he got a phone call and had to leave. Then we went through tons of unnecessary testing, and taking lots of blood from our daughter, who had already had blood taken twice this week from our regular pediatrician. They didn't get enough blood, so they wanted to come in again, that is the point where we put our foot down and told them no. After all this testing, and her perking up and acting more normal, they decided they wanted to transfer her to children's hospital via ambulance. Most of the appointment was talking to the financial lady about billing, and insurance. At this point we became frustrated, and decided she was well enough to take her to our usual hospital for a second opinion. They made us sign off on a refusal to treat against medical advice, and then guilted us basically saying if we leave our daughter could be dead in the morning. We also heard them gossiping about us outside of the room. We ended up taking her to Pro Health, and after being monitored they decided that she was fine, and even agreed with us that there was an overreac tion and Auroras part. The doctor over there was confused why they took blood from her at all, let alone 3 times. Our baby is just fine this morning as well, and next time there is an emergancy, we will be going straight to Pro Health instead. Poor practice here, and they don't listen to their patients. Would not recommend."
