"The place looked nice from the outside, but once we got inside it was a different story. I reserved a room because they advertised a pool, hot tub, and sauna. The first thing I noticed was the pool and hot tub were empty, I was very disappointed and thought I would go to the lounge for a drink. It was closed, and never opened up while I was there. Got to the room, the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, the smoke detector was missing, the window was so fogged up I couldn't see through it, and the main door would latch unless I slammed it very hard. The breakfast was either cereal or a bagel. I was not impressed at all by standards of the place. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone."

"Great location next to Cenex convenience gas hot food. Across from the pottery shed. Live entertainment ( seasonal )and beautiful art. A nice bar . Beautiful Shell lake . Woodcrafters with the Emerson line. Is across the street. Very warm atmosphere. Pool is currently under maintenance."

"Stayed for 2 nights while visiting the Shell Lake area and have zero complaints! Is it a Hilton? No! Were the owners pleasant and nice? Definitely! Was the room clean? Yes! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!"

"We arrived an hour early then planned and they were going to charge us $20.00 extra because we arrived early even though the room was ready. But they waved it how nice of them. But Very disappointed the pool and hot tub where not working but I seen a review that said they have been down sense 2019 they told us there was someone coming to fix it tomorrow that would have been a Sunday so we know that was a lie and did they give us a discount because the pool and hot tub where not working no. It was our Anniversary get away we just wanted to relax by the pool and hot tub after our train ride, we ended up watching tv how disappointed we were. Would not go back all they think about is the money. Maybe if you would fix your pool and hot tub you might get better reviews and more customers."

"The location is great! Check-in was fairly quick and easy. Staff was mostly friendly. The room was clean except for two different sticky spots on the carpet. The balcony was nice and the decor was very appropriate for an up-north hotel. It was a huge disappointment that the pool and hot tub were down for maintenance and there was no discount offered. I feel terrible for the families that were staying there. I did have a jacuzzi tub in my room, but I never found time to use it. I think the mattress was the most uncomfortable and hard mattress I have ever slept on in my 41 years of life. We might as well have slept on the floor…it would’ve had a very similar feel. Neither my friend nor I were able to sleep well at all. The pillows were about as thick as a piece of paper in addition to the plywood-like mattress. For over $400, for 2 nights, I expected way better than I got. I honestly don’t think I would ever stay here again."
