"We had a wonderful experience with Kitchen Refresh. After getting quotes from custom remodelers, we were thrilled to meet with Jerry and Shelly and learn that they would be able to give us what we want for a fraction of the price and much less time living through a remodel. I loved that we were able to do some customizing to meet our needs (remove a cabinet, raise a former desk to counter height, move our cooktop out of our island, and redesign drawers and cabinets) but we did not have to completely gut our kitchen to do it. We were also able to update our family room by having them replace door fronts on our built ins and paint to match the kitchen. Having 2 small children at home, we also appreciated that our kitchen was functional throughout the whole process."
"Jerry and Shelly are great to work with. Their team was knowledgeable and workmanship was good."
"Very happy with their work. Everything was done in the time frame they gave me. Workers did a great job and cleaned up before leaving."
"My experience with Kitchen Refresh was very frustrating and stressful. When speaking with Jerry and Shelly we were told that a kitchen refresh would take approx. 2-3 weeks. When they were ready to start the project, we let the project manager know we would be hosting Thanksgiving and asked to hold off. We were told it would be complete before Thanksgiving. They started on November 7th 2022. I took off work to meet the project manager at 9 am that day to go through things. The project manager did not show up so I went back to work after waiting an hour. I never did meet with him but the project proceeded that morning. I was told there is no need to remove drawers or items from cabinets. Not only was there sanding dust in all the drawers and cabinets, but there were paint speckles in them also. The first week a lot got done but the next week they realized that some of the fronts were not there but expected the following week. We also realized that all the upper doors were measured wrong and had to be reordered. By Thanksgiving we were left with no new countertops, about 3/4ths of the fronts installed and the painting half done. They were very sloppy with paint on the floor, microwave and refrigerator and stove. We had chosen shaker style fronts for both door and drawer fronts, with one narrow front on both upper and lower cabinets by microwave. After the installation, the narrow fronts were solid vs shaker style. They told us that our contract states that any door fronts under 9 inches wide could not be shaker style but of course we were not informed of that up front. We did resolve this by reordering drawer fronts and turning them vertical. This left us without self-closing hinges on those doors. Communication throughout the project was very inconsistent, intermittent and frustrating after about the second week. Multiple times workers would show up and ask what they were supposed to work on for the day. It seemed like there was very little communication from their project manager. Toward the end of the project they sent an employee out two different times to “finish up the project”. The second time he had paint on the fridge, the new handles, the ceiling and the floor. Also still hadn’t completely filled in the gaps with caulk. When I sent pictures to Jerry from that day, he apologized and said he would make sure everything would be taken care of. At that point my frustration took over and I declined and said I would clean things up myself and do the finish touches myself. That was March 1st of 2023, 4 months after the start of our project. Bottom line…… Quality of the actual door and drawer fronts that were manufactured in Bismarck was excellent. All employees were very kind and cordial. Quality of the craftsmanship was poor: They always put tarps down on the floors but when rolled up at end of day debris was on the floor and sometimes paint still ended up on the floor. Sanding dust in drawers and cabinets. Paint specks on items in the drawers and cabinets, refrigerator, stove, microwave, handles, etc. Cabinet end panels were not cut precise so they used caulk to fill in the gaps and painted over. I would NOT recommend Kitchen Refresh to anyone looking for cabinet improvements."
"Kitchen Refresh did an amazing job on our kitchen remodel! Great price and it couldn’t have turned out better. They were prompt daily and cleaned up after themselves every day. Molly was great with communication and Matt was excellent. He had ideas that worked out perfectly in our kitchen, especially with a microwave issue I had, he made a perfect surround for it and it worked out great! I would highly recommend Kitchen Refresh to upgrade your home"
