"This has made a huge difference for my son. He has been going for a year, and school is already so much less of a struggle for him. It's really been a blessing. In response to the critical review from someone that didn't get to go through the program, I get it. We waited a long time for an opening to be able to get help for my son. I would have been very sad if he had been rejected. But I also understand that they are providing an extremely expensive service for free, funded by donations, and have a very limited number of slots open. The waiting list is huge and they have to fill those spots with the kids that will be best serviced by their program. Every child that applies is evaluated to see if it will be a good fit and ultimately have a good chance of success..They have very limited resources, and no choice but to be extremely selective, There are strict attendance and behavior policies so that they are always able to do the most possible with what they have. If it came down to a choice between my son getting a 25% benefit from the program and somebody else's getting an 75% benefit, my heart and my head would definitely be in conflict. I'm sure glad I don't have to be the one making those decisions. Final thought: If anyone is reading this review and thinks the dyslexia center should do more, we all agree. They would love to help more kids. They are willing to train more tutors, and they have fundraisers that can use help throughout the year. The more help they have, the more kids they can help."
"Will not help my child, who also is high functioning autistic. No reason just stated we do not take autistic children. They in my opinion suck for not helping all children."
"Best job EVER!!!! We get to provide great instruction for children who struggle to read, write, and spell....all for free. We also get to train amazing adults in an accredited program so they can work more effectively with children.....all for free."
