"Gorgeous, calming and virtually unknown - what more could one ask? Enjoy."
"This is a great place to sleep in your van for a week or two for free. There is a spot behind the fishing boats where you can use the bathroom, just be sure to put your toilet paper in the creek. You can also let your dog run free and let it poop wherever it wants to and no one cares. (#itsadogsword)) There are garbage cans in several spots but if you are a tech bro, content creator, social media influencer like me, (#vanlife!) you can just leave a bag of garbage in the parking lot and some worker that makes $15 an hour will be forced to clean it up after you! I love stocking up at the trader joes in Berkeley before coming up here so I don't have to spend any money locally and avoid contributing to the flailing local economy in any way whatsoever. I plan on buying a house here as soon as I cash out my vested Apple shares as it is sooo cheap compared to Milpitas. (#supercheap!) The locals obviously do not know what they have here and could use some help getting this town cleaned up. They don't even have a starbucks yet! (#countryliving!) Excellent place to bring your Costco foam top surfboard and several friends for a fun day of getting yelled at and a fresh coat of surf wax on your windows. (#kookslams!)"
"The Arena Cove Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The district represents the commercial maritime activity that formed the backbone of Point Arena's economy from the 1860s to the early 20th century. It was at the cove that lumber, dairy products, and other fruits of local labor were shipped to San Francisco. And it was at the cove that people and manufactured goods arrived on their way to town and outlying areas. The Wharfmaster's house was built at the beginning of this period of commercial activity. The other structures in the district were built for the life-saving station established at the cove in 1903. The life saving station later became Coast Guard Station #314 and was decommissioned in 1958. The architectural integrity of all the structures remains high, although some alterations have occurred. The Arena Cove District covers 200 acres with ten contributing buildings and three contributing structures."
"I stayed at the Wharf Master's Inn Monday-Friday February 6-10, 2017 the only registered guest from midweek on. Great place to recharge! From South of Pt Arena, turn Left at the green ROOM. From Fort Bragg area, North of Point Arena turn Right at the green ROOM. Port rd. At the south end of town. Thanks to everyone for a GREAT visit."
