"Red Wing is our favorite place to visit in Minnesota. We drive up the Great River Road from the Chicago area and it takes our breath away every time no matter the season! It is one of the most spectacular drives in the country! And Red Wing is our favorite destination. Here are a few of our favorite things.....staying at the beautiful and historic St James, watching riverboats at Levee Park, walking Bay Point Park, golfing at the Red Wing Golf Club, hiking Barn's Bluff, cruising on the Pearl of the Lake boat tours, biking along the Cannon Valley Trail, eating at Hanisch bakery as well as the Staghead and Scarlet Kitchen, treating ourselves to chocolates at the Red Wing Confectionery, skiing at Welsh, visiting during the Arts Festival in October, attending the Holiday Stroll in November, and shopping the darling boutiques......I could go on and on! We highly recommend the Red Wing Visitors Center! We worked with Paige and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! She went out of her way to help us and truly went above and beyond in every way. She quite literally took "Minnesota nice" to a whole new level."

Especially magical during the Red Wing Fall Arts Festival each October at the height of autumn. Terrific exhibitors, music, food and a playful chalk mandala for the kids. Check it out!"

"We hit town for our anniversary weekend, and just went for a walk and by happenstance thunking to look at the river stopped in here as our first stop. So much helpful information. The lady running the desk was amazing and seemed to truly enjoy helping people find fun stuff to do. She was amazing."

"This is a restored ex-Milwaukee Road depot which houses a visitors bureau and waiting room. The building is kept very clean, including the restrooms, and has a lovely setting with flowers and trimmed hedges. There is short and long term parking on site and is served by Amtrak twice a day. There is a park next to it and is located adjacent to the Mississippi River."
