"I want to start by saying Lora in the office is fantastic and has been a big help with a lot of issues. I have lived here going on 10 years and I do notice the changes being made to improve the property hopefully not to just to be sold again. We have had at lots of owners since I moved here. My one thing I notice is not being addressed is grounds lighting. They should have light posts along the sidewalks between the buildings it is very dark and poorly lit through out the complex except the front by the office and gym. They are currently painting buildings did not give notice to the people who park in front of the buildings they are painting to move cars or not park there. I cannot see my spot and the building in front of my car is not mine. They did covered my car day one but for days after did not bother and with wind carries the paint spray. Let me tell you the paint dust and flakes are now imbedded in my paint and speckled all over and dark part of my car. I have tried calling the office for two days with no answer. The number I have had for years is now not a working number. I also sent an email but its a little late. I did ask a maintenance guy who was by my car to please ask them to cover the cars because I don't think they are understanding me he said to call the office. This complex is very pretty and I have loved living here but you pay a lot and I like it to look like its worth what the rent is being charged. They use to wash our hallways two to three times a years. The hallways have not been washed in over 4 years so now when they presser wash them before painting your building it gets nothing off the ground all the stains are still visible and its sad and gross. They actually need to soap them at this point. The people that are supposed to clean around the property stand in the hallways and talk on their phones or hide in the gym, its a waste. The gates have finally been fixed and have stayed working but there is a HUGE chunk of gate cut out and removed by the bus stop that people come in and out of so yeah NO security for you cars. Parking is nightmare as some units have over 5 cars and if you haven't been here since before my ten years you cant get an extra spot or garage. I was on a list for over a year then called and told I am being removed. They should have a list and people should only be able to have one garage per unit and one extra spot to make it fair to others. Some have up to three garages. People across the street park here also and walk right out of the gate with no worries. Its frustrating if you are not home by 5pm we will not have a place to park. We used to have tags to hang in our cars with our spot number etc. and if we didn't have them we would get notices and or towed. they need to go back to this there are so so many cars."
"I have been living here for well over a year, since before it was Avery and still under the moniker of Waterstone. While things weren't perfect under them, it seemed well enough that we decided to move in with a longer than normal lease. Some of the issues carried over from Waterstone, such as the never-ending parking/garage list that we had been on the whole time, and even made negative progress in that whole time(we moved further down than initially started over a year ago). This continued under new management and the constant turnover never helped with getting any clear answers from staff, and despite having an email promising a garage from the assistant property manager months ago, we have yet to hear back from management. Other issues relating to the current management include a gate that has been down for several months, a safety concern as we had package theft issues a while back as well. This also contributes to the terrible parking situation as there is never guest parking available since anyone can stroll in, apartments across the street gladly use the parking lot without repercussion. This combined with the constant construction/storage in the guest parking makes it a nightmare for anyone who has more vehicles than reserved spots. As another user also mentioned, there have been at least 3 or 4 "annual" sprinkler/water heater related visits in the last year which are inconveniencing to have to work around. Lastly maintenance can be slow, we put in an order a couple times for a clogged kitchen sink, both instances took multiple days before someone was sent out and I ended up having to plunge and unclog the sink myself as we had a sink full of standing water for days at that point. We originally set up a meeting to bring up our concerns and ask if there was any room for negotiation in the increase due to those concerns(Because it never hurts to ask, right?). What we got instead was a rude reply from the new employee Derek who told my partner "that's not how the world works" because we had the audacity to ask they justify the price increase of almost 8 percent despite all the issues we have noted. The interaction was very unprofessional and left a sour taste in our mouths. I believe it is fair to do your due diligence before renewing a contract but the way staff has acted definitely has us reconsidering our decision to stay, and even in the past referred family which I would not do again the way things are going."
"The community was fine when it was still Waterstone and under previous management but this new management is terrible. They have MONTHLY “sprinkler” inspections that they call “annual.” They have checked these things 4 times this year alone. They also take forever to respond to anything you ask, whether it’s to fix something or just a simple question. These people are insufferable…"
"I have been waiting for answers to fix my Dishwasher(2yrs) and my garage door opener. The office has acknowledged my issue but it is still not operating right. Now I'm told they are waiting on parts, instead of replacing it with a new model. This current model is from 2001."
"My wife and I are new to Avery, but I am anxious to write a review. We worked with Lora and are ecstatic! She was so kind and patient. We were doing a long-distance move, which makes everything more complicated, and yet she guided us professionally through every step. The apartments are perfectly located, yet quiet, with beautiful grounds. Yea!"
