"Disappointed and disgruntled… This place with its thin walls, loud floors, lack of genuine assistance from staff, temperamental elevator, lack of communication and inability to make changes without consulting a manager who does nothing, is unfortunate. For what you pay, the value of the building is low budget. We have complained about the loud noises upstairs all times of the night due to thin flooring. Sure there’s a pool and a gym and in-unit w/d dishwasher. But if sleep and peace can’t be enjoyed after multiple complaints, look at the staff who try to fill spaces instead of taking care of who is already here. They are disconnected from reality and don’t even have a staff person at the desk to greet people during the day. Parking is tight and the staff simply randomly chooses to lease parking spaces without looking at the size of the vehicles already parked there. Also, try calling holland residential, the parent company, and you will experience a call that goes nowhere. I’ve lived here 9 months and let me tell ya, the newness of it does not equal quality. Do not be deceived. There is much better quality and customer service elsewhere."
"This review is for Casey McCracken and all of the leasing office staff that work with him. I have never had such a positive moving experience. I am relocating from Hawaii and had so many things that I needed to ship via FedEx. Casey and his team have been extremely flexible with receiving the boxes and made this entire experience streamlined and stress free! I am extremely excited to start my lease at this property and could not recommend them more."
"Ruby at the Society is a remarkable community which has been everything I’ve hoped for so far. The staff is professional and kind, and the complex is luxurious and well designed. Cooper was excellent to work with, and I really appreciated his dedication to making the application and move-in process very straightforward and seamless!"
"I have lived at Ruby for about 7 months and have enjoyed my apartment as well as the available amenities with little complaints. Harrigo was a huge help when getting set up initially while being professional and attentive to any concerns that I had. While my experience has not been entirely discrepancy-free, all maintenance has been responded to and addressed quickly (within 0-2 days depending on urgency). Some amenities have been non-operational for limited periods of time such as one of two treadmills or one of two elevators but the management team actively works to fix these issues while communicating with the building via email. I personally appreciate the open communication and the diligence to resolve issues even if they cannot be instantly fixed. The location of the building is fantastic for anyone living in San Diego with a 10-15 min drive to Downtown, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado, NBSD, La Jolla, etc. The building prioritizes security with watches stood all throughout the night as well as a locked parking garage to protect vehicles. I don’t know of another apartment complex in San Diego that offers the same comfort, security, and communication as Ruby and thus 5 stars for me. My only major request is the ability to have multiple keys to one apartment. It would be surprising to see an unwanted visitor make it past security, multiple locked doors/elevators, and then use the spare key fob (that was misplaced) to break into a single 800 sq.ft apartment on at least the 3rd story but alas."
"The property management where we reside provides a terrible service overall, with the exception of Cooper, who is the only commendable staff member. Despite numerous complaints, issues remain unresolved, and we face challenges such as showering with a cup due to water-related problems. The stove malfunctioned, and considering our $4300 rent, the living conditions are unacceptable. While they promptly address concerns like a barking dog, towing our car when we paid for two parking spots and not being able to communicate with us. Acting like they don't know that was our car. When we know for fact, the building doesn't have even half of the capacity. They show a lack of respect for tenants. The advertised beauty contrasts sharply with the frustrating experience of being unable to break the lease. Overall, the service lacks consideration and responsiveness to costumers and tenants."
